While I was wandering about the desolate wastes of Tatooine last night, I was getting pretty irritated at not being able to find any creatures to hunt. Why is it that a Scout doesn't have any innate creature tracking ability? Here is my proposal for a new skill to add either in the Scout or Ranger skill tree:

Tracking -- using the skill would be similar to surveying, and the better your skill the farther you see. Basically, it would put color-coded dots on your ctrl+V map based on the con of the creatures in your surrounding area for a short time (5min?). Then, as a scout or ranger, you could pull up your map and say, Ah ha! There are creatures over yonder, come friends! And lead your friends like a ranger SHOULD. Maybe at the first level, you can only see within 500m (it would have to extend outside of the minimap HUD object of course, or else it's redundant), and then 1000m, and mastery maybe 2000m?? This would be awesome for grouping!

Please bump so we can get this in the game!!

I'm afraid this wouldn't work the way SWG is set up... Critters spawn in direct response to a player's presence. If you scanned outside the 'spawn radius' already set up, you'd see a whole lot of nothing. I would assume this is done to cut down on lag - why track the movements of a bunch of critters no one will ever see? A system change of this nature is really tough to sell at this late date.
