Ok seriously this scout xp takes too long to get and is really boring to get in the first place. Anyone have any ideas as to how to get it faster or how to make the time go by faster?

sure get about 10 artisans that need to sample. all of you go out to a cap. put a camp up and everybody samples until the camp is gone. then put up another. you'll get more xp this way.

Just find some in the cities or on the boards or through grouping, etc.
As for other ideas on what to do during the downtime:
1. Make traps, you'll need a lot of these to if you plan to go all the way up the trapping tree.
2. Get novice medic and make stimpacks. Will also help lessen downtime when you go out on missions and the like.
3. Forage.
4. Sample if you have a sampling tool or novice artisan.
5. Make more camp kits.
Most of these (with the exception of forage) are things that you are likely going to be doing at some point in the game anyway, so might as well do it when you can't do much else, will help lessen downtime elsewhere.
As for non-game activities:
1. Internet. Can surf these boards or other sites.
2. Read a book.
3. Watch TV.
4. Make a sandwich.
5. Take a shower (not a flame here, just that its about the right amount of time) : P
6. Walk the dog.
You get the idea.
The more people you have in the camp, the faster you can max out your XP, but it is still going to come down to you having to wait around in camp. So essentially, an ideal time to do this is when you have other things around the house you need to get done, but nobody is on the computer.
I agree that it is a boring skill to level up, but I imagine that the devs had invisioned that this skill would end up rising pretty naturally from just normal gameplay/grouping. Unfortunately, as is often the case with MMO's, devs expectations and actual reality are often not one and the same. If you are in no rush to get to Master Scout, then this really won't be a problem, the camps will take care of themselves eventually. If you are in a hurry though so that you can get to BH or Ranger, etc., then you are going to have to go through a fairly boring grind I'm afraid.

This skill requires none, with no risk, so of course it's accrual is going to be deflated. There are only so many ways they could go about giving you survival XP that won't be mindlessly macro'd. I'm just thankful it doesn't take scouting XP, then it'd require hundreds of times more to advance.

I always make a camp before I log off, then when I come home from work for lunch, I set it up. Disband before I go back.

Rather than setting up a camp by yourself, try to find some AFK samplers and set the camp up on top of them. The rate at which you gain wsxp practically doubles when you are not alone in the camp. If you have basic medical skills, head out to a hunting area and look for wounded players. Offer to heal their wounds in camp and you shoudl come close to maxxing out every camp after 10-15 minutes. IMO, this is a lot faster and more interesting than AFK camping.

No idea how to get medical supplies. I think it just takes organics which scouts obviously get from harvesting from creatures.
