So i picked up scout as my second profession. Harvesting from corpses seems to be bringing up my skills. Now what do i do with the bones, etc that i harvest?

I am guessing i craft them with a "generic crafting tool"? But to craft them, do i need other supplies? I would also like to begin making camps, but i am unsure how to go about doing that?

Could someone give me a brief rundown on the whos and whats of the scout profession? Crafting, camps, etc?

Thankyou very much for your time Wolv

Camps & traps only require hides & bones.

Try to geta lot of hide; you can make a profit selling them.

All you need is the generic crafting tool. You can craft anywhere as long as you have that tool. Like the other respondent said, harvest hides and bones as much as you can. If you have no other choice but to harvest meat, do it at least for the xp. Medics and artisans could use the meat for their crafting needs.

Also, you can go to your Datapad (Ctrl-D) and check the second tab. It has a list of schematics for things you can build, and that will tell you all of the resources you need to build anything.

Traps can be useful in certain situations, but more as a supplement to groups early on. Most do a bit of damage to the creature and all have some sort of debuff. If you start combat with a trap, it will not draw aggro until it successfully hits (you will want to unequip your gun until it goes off though).

Camps give you xp for wounds healed and time spent. You get much more xp for wound healing, and it doesn't matter who is giving or receiving, just that it is in your camp.

Groups great for xp. Each person contributes to time spent in camp, and you get xp for each person healed. This can be the natural five minute auto-heal script or from medic skills.

If you are an artisan sampling, put down a camp to get the xp for the time spent. Especially if you plan on being there a while.

Also note that you have an xp cap based upon the camp type. As long as you have the resources, do not be afraid to break camp and drop another to maximize your gain. You will have to get a feel for this yourself, as the rate at which the cap is reached depends upon how much company you keep.

Just a thought, can I sample from within a camp? If so will my action heal while im sampling? It would pay to sample within a camp if it works.

Yes, you can sample in a camp.
I survey for a resource, go to the waypoint, set up camp and get exp for being in the camp, get the exp for surveying and get resources for my stimpacks.
You can also craft camps and traps while doing all of the above for crafting exp.
