I'm working on a theory for optimization. My current working theory is to accumulate at least 20 wound damage in a stat. The easiest way to do that is to get incapped. Make a camp and keep it up long enough to recoup 20 wound damage in a stat (about 10 min.) Disband the camp and repeat until all wounds are gone. Doing this, I've been averaging 500 survival xp per camp cycle. The cap with Survival I trained seems to be 620. It's kinda boring, though. Trapping xp is much more fun to raise.

With your first camp, 17 minutes sit in chair, disband camp, build new camp, rinse and repeat, 600xp each time.

Boring, but works if you feel like reading a book in real life and every 17 minutes build a new camp. Like someone else mentioned, I always sample resources in a camp - might as well kill 2 boring birds with one stone.

What is the limit for most experience you get for experience in numbers of people, time the camp is up and other unknown factors? Anyone know please? Or a method to maximize exp?

With a basic camp kit I can generally get up to 600 exp. Depends on how long the camp has been up, number of people using it, and I think amount of healing done in it. No idea of a formula or how much each of them affects it. I find a good place to sample for resources and set up a camp there while I sample. Do a bit of crafting at the same time (replenish my traps especially) so end up getting experience in three skills at the same time.

If you are with a group and they get wounds during a fight, set up a camp and heal the wounds there. Get basic novice medic and novice entertainer and that helps. Course this depends on the group since some folks are a bit impatient and don't want to sit for a few minutes to get healed. Also how hurt they are...
