Thread: Scouting and Trapping XP?

I'm a Marksman/Scout. My Marksman skill tree is advancing nicely, but my Scouting is seriously lacking. I'm not too worried about Wilderness Survivial, as that is pretty easy, but where can I get the best Scouting and Trapping XP early one without dieing too much.

Since groups are borked, when fighting with other people I never have the chance to harvest or loot, so I need some good solo places to do this until they fix groups.

Thanks.

What i found eas to do is solo gorgs and what not for the harvest and make traps and set them to quick keys and at the start of a fight one of each at it, its it up real quick

the best way i have found to get scouting XP is to attack things that are white difficulty. they give you 79 XP each, and nice experience for your weapons as well. the majority of my scouting XP has come from attacking spider lairs cause there are tons of enemies in there.

another way to gain XP which isn't very fun but is probably the fastest is to hang outside the city and pick off all those really weak enemies. each gives around 45 XP and since there are so many and they all die really fast you gain scout experience really fast.

there's my two cents

The best way to get scouting XP, at least the best way I've found, is to team up with one or two other people that aren't interested in harvesting corpses.....a pure marksman works well, or brawler, or whatever. Take some destroy missions, support them with additional firepower, and then take your time making sure you harvest the hides/bones/whatever off of all the corpses.

If you're the only one interested in doing this, you'll get tons of Scouting XP without much trouble.....plus helping on the attacking side of things gets you weapon and combat XP as well.

The other key is to match your traps to your weapons. Say you're using bone spurs and noise markers...those will do lots of mind damage when they go off, so you should be using a rifle and headshot (more mind damage) to finish off the beasts.

Same idea for the early needle traps (action damage IIRC) and carbine's leg shot.

That way you can take the tough creatures that'll result in the best trapping xp without any real increase in risk.

I find trapping xp the easiest to increase, especially solo. I find a white con critter and throw a trap at it. I keep throwing traps at it until I land 3. Then I kill it with my carbine. Right now, 3 traps on a white con gives me 150 trapping xp. It should take me about 40 fights to get to Trapping III at this rate.

For Trap XP i just throw a wire trap and a bone spur trap at the beginning of each fight. I usually get at least 100 xp, a little less for babies, a little more for tough mobs. Or you can just create all available traps then throw them at babies for easy no-risk xp.
