Can anyone recommend the best camps of mobs to harvest or methods?

1. What planet has the weakest mobs that provide good fast/constant harvest xp?(I'm most interested in Tantoine as that's where I'm based, but others I'm sure would like to know where is good on other planets..

2. Should I switch out of Pistol for this as I see a lot of mobs have lower mind pools.. would I kill them faster if I used a mind damaging weapon? I don't care about the weapon xp.. I just want to get my scout xp..

3. Are kill missions as good/better than solo hunting? I do delivery missions and make great money so I haven't been doing kill missions. But I saw someone in the CH forum say he was getting 1000 Scout xp from each mission. It takes 20-25 kills of noob mobs for me to make a 1000xp. But it has seemed to be the most consisitant scout xp so far.

Just for a frame of reference.. I have Pistol III, Explore II.

Thanks.

I can only offer up my own paltry experiences.

I don't know what the best camps are for mobs. I haven't left Cornet, Corellia and I've been pretty much fighting anything I can and they all seem about the same.

I'm also expert pistol and 2nd tier ranged support so I'm using my pistol and the "body shot" skill to focus solely on health points. I won't be taking any rifle and carbine skills since they don't match any of my current long termgoals.

The 1000 scouting experience he got from each mission is probably true. You have to kill quite a few creatures on those missions and all that trapping, harvesting and camping adds up. You also get credits for the missions, but you have to travel back and forth to town to get them. You could choose to do that or just stay out in the wilds fighting gathering more hides/bones which seem to be sellable.

There's another frame of reference for ya.

1. vicinity of any starting city on any planet - the difficulty of the mob determines the amount of scouting xp you get from harvesting, and all the starting cities have a plentiful supply of relatively easy creatures - if you want to speed things up, I would suggest looking for a pistol with experimented damage.

2. not really. the mind pool weapon is rifle, and you suffer a substantial penalty to defense when being melee attacked with a rifle equipped. Since relatively few creatures at low level have ranged attacks, pistol or perhaps carbine are preferable. What weapon you use has more to do with your long term goals.

3. IMO destroy missions are superior IF you are soloing - you get more from your effort (cash, scout xp, combat xp, survival xp, trapping xp, harvested resources) - and you can stop by cantina and hospital to keep your wounds low after every pair of missions...just pick 2 destory missions in the same direction. If you are in groups larger than about 6 tops, then just going out hunting is better - the xp split is nice, you get better survival xp from the amount of people and healing in your camps, and you gain xp at a much better rate, even if there are additional scouts in the group.

Something to consider - you harvest a lot of hide and bone however you choose to hunt, be it exploratory or mission generated. If you gather up a good supply of these, you can usually find an engineer type artisan willing to pony up the chemical and mineral to make you bone armor in exchange for the leftover bone and hide. Just remember that bone armor takes a large number of hides an bone, so big stacks will get you a lot further. You can also get some pretty decent powerups and experimental weapons this way...bartering with bone/hide is a good way to get what you need from artisans for little or no cost, because they are one of the resources they can't survey/sample for.

The spirit of cooperation will get you a long way...save your credits for training and travel, and trade with artisans for what you need.

Thanks for the info guys.

I think there is a difference between what town you are hunting out of. At least at the level I'm at, I think Mos Eisley is far better than Corronet as the mobs about Eisley are much faster kills than what I found around Corronet. The butterflys always seemed slower to kill and damaged me more and the harvest xp was only 10 better.

Any more experiences? If we get enough people talking about their experience I think we'll have a broader base to work from.

Although, there's probably not many people that have gone between planets. I've traveled from Tant to Naboo and Cor.. Spent quite a bit of money, but I think I got a better idea of what's out there.

Ok Ill let you in on my little secret

Naboo, fanned rawls. I gain around 150 to 200 pistol xp solo on these, they also will give you 79 scout/trapping xp. The give roughly 15 hide/bone per kill. A warning, for a mob in a newbie area they are tough, con yellow to me with pistol 3 and they are social. So if you kite them past other fanned rawls you will pick up adds
