I am also wondering if there's a slash command like /disband (obviously doesn't work) to disband a camp.

You will find that there is a datapad beside one of the tents that has management features for your camp. This will gove you the camp status as wel as the ability to disband immediately.

There's a datapad? WOW! I never knew that...!

That's called sarcasm btw.

I need a slash command for a macro, yes... to survival exp grind to get around the exp grind that SOE promised us would not be in this game as it would be suited to the non-hardcore gamers... AS IF! :-(

There isnt one... nor is there a / command to set up a camp.. which makes the macro thing useless unfortunately.

I just make a camp, sample for 16 -21 minutes using a sampling macro then disband and make a new camp..

Its a pain but in 3 evenings I did the entire Survival tree (3 hours each day) and I had tons of nice resources to sell.

I woudlnt mind seeing that post. Where they say that it's going to be suited to the casual gamer.

Anyone that's masterd Ranged Support knows better than that. At least it's 10 times easier than EQ. In my own life time I CAN master something. But.....I mean really. Rancors asside, several hundred thousand xp just dosn't fall out of the air.

I'm all about a macro. Course I dunno how to use it.

I'm not really looking to grind, I just enjoy making camps for my friends when we hunt. The basic camp is good enough for that, so I'm not really sweating it. If I get better healing bonuses later, cool. I've heard that that doesn't work, though.

Anyway, I'm more of a typer than a mouser, so I could use some type commands. Typing is just so much faster.

However, I could see how this would be an issue, when you have multiple types of camps in your inventory. How would it know which camp kit you want to use? Not a huge problem, but something to think about...

use the datapad in the campsite, choose Disband. This still gives you the xp, same as walking away, or Jabba forbid , you get attacked while in your camp.

And, yes the DEVS said that this game will be for casual players, and that you will be able to log in for an hour and still accomplish something. I was on the development boards for the last three years. They also said that they are trying very hard to avoid needing to xp grind. They even had several posts asking for ideas to avoid it in development, and worked with beta testers about it.

So much for that. The Scout is all about grinding. OH boy, I have to make a camp, and sit and do nothing. Hmm lots of down time, and the ONLY way to make survival xp.

It's all in your mindset.

I *am* a casual gamer ... during the week it's 2 - 3 hrs max, and not every night ... weekends might be up to 6, or if I push it 8 .. that's for the whole weekend.

I love the fact that I've been able to get the first tier in many skills .. and 2 tiers with my pistol after just one week!

It's not speedy. I won't make Creature Handler in3 weeks, but there's progress that I can see! I build my camps when I need to regen and I'm out in the wilds, I'll sample some in the process (working on organic chem and need the resources) and easily kill the time. If there are folks around, I'll invite them in to make the xp go faster. If I need to go and do something afk, or on the 'net, I just leave Aya in camp and go do it.

It's really not that hard .. and it's a TONNE easier than EQ!!!! 1 1/2 years in EQ and my main is finally level 52 ... I expect I'll master CH in less time than that .. and it's more fun! (BTW, I do still play EQ a couple nights ... but only if there's guild groups ... the xp grind is just SO SLOW)
