I currently have explor 4 and Hunting II. Working on Hunting III and IV so I can get CH. Today I tried something new, since I cannot stand to do any more harvesting. I went to Lok and just outside Nym's I found a few spawns of red con mobs. I would walk through them with mask up and if I saw a yellow I'd put it down before they could smell me (if you hit mask again it takes it down and you can put it back up instantly) and run clear of the yellows. If they were low enough con I'd kill the yellows and harvest, remask and walk through the next spawn. I earned about 2k exp in about 30 mins doing this and while that's not really fast it was a nice change from running missions. I want to try and maximize this abit more though so I have a few questions....

1. Does walking/running effect mask?

2. Does having your weapon effect the chance to succeed?

3. Does armor have any factor?

4. How close should I get to the mobs?

1) I don't believe so, it hasn't for me

2) Not that I have ever seen

3) Just got my first armorweave, so don't know.

4) Start at > 70m, and then approach.

Someone else has suggested that you get around 80-70m and sit down. Let the creature approach you and the rate of success is much better. HOWEVER, the creature may never approach you and you just sit around doing very little.
