Thread: 3 Hours to Spend, from no Trapping skills to Trapping 4 possible?
I would not think it possible to bridge that gap in such a short amount of time.
The largest amount of trapping XP i've gotten so far was 237 or so for hitting a Tusken bantha with a noise maker. Basically the bigger and badder the creature the more XP you get, trapping or otherwise.

why is he stupid for answering your question?
Question was: 3 hours to spend from no Trapping skills to Trapping 4 possible?
Answer: No
He's correct. And that made the rest of your message n/a. Don't flame someone because you don't like the answer. It certainly didn't require further explanation as it wasn't a deep question....
In a perfect set up, I think you could get close.
Basically you would have to premake tons of traps, of every stlye you could. (to start with that would only be 2 styles) then go find yourself a Bantha Herd. (assuming they are still red to you?)Land one of each on a selected bantha and Run away. Wait for the first trap to wear off then reapply one of each style. As you get more comfortable, circle back to the Bantha Herd, and pick up more Bantha's to simultaneously kite/trap forever.
Which would be (num oftrap stlyes) * (num of Bantha kited) * 200+ xp (per every 30 seconds), of course thats only the theortical calculations, since the process of kiting would prevent you from hitting this theoritical perfect maximum. (you have to be within 50 meters to throw a trap. trying to throw 5 traps while a Bantha closes 50 meters is not going to be possible. but you have 30 seconds to work in as many as possible, Run a bit throw one, Run abit throw another, etc...)
don't forget you can't reuse the same trap, on the same bantha until its effects have dissappated from the first trap. But you can use a different trap.
If all that is too much work for you, go find a partner that's chain killing something and offer to glow worm trap for them. (makes them more vunerable to ranged weapons) They get all the combat xp, you get all trapping xp. You could even trap for a stat they are not affecting. E.g. you trap the mobs mind score while they body shot it to death, so that you both get full xp.
Wire traps (or was it lace darts?) at the tuskan banthas during peak hours at the tuskan raider camp near Wayfar. There's usually around 50-100 people there killing tuskans for faction/exp/items. Make as many as your inventory can hold and fillyour hotkey bar with em. Wait until the bantha has been wounded then start tossing. One or the other of those will hit almost every time and they are cheap to make in terms of hide and bones. 270 or so trapping exp each toss.
If you think that it's too easy (devs or otherwise), go there yourself and try it. Don't forget to clone in Wayfar though as you will die or become incapacitated quite a few times being close enough to toss traps on the banthas which are still red to me as a lvl 1 pistoleer, master scout, and lvl 3 creature handler. There's plenty of risk involved so the reward is justified. I lost just about all the clothes off my back early on in my scouting career from being killed as the tuscans like to finish you off once you are incapacitated.
Good luck.
It might be more than 3 hours, but after you get to Trap II it's a good idea to hit Tatooine and the Mountain Worrts. They're the giant frogs that (seem to) only spawn in mountain areas. Well named I suppose..
Anyway, at around 211 XPper trap, throw every trap you have at one while running away. I mean EVERY trap. Set your first row of hotkeys to one trap apiece for as many different kinds that you have (I think it's 5 or 6 at II?). by the time you've thrown one of each, the 1st trap effect will have worn offand theworrt to be affected again. I usually started with the trap that increases the chance of an effect landing.
Warrts are really slow and have trouble with going up hills, so 2-3k XP per frog is feasible. I just made up 2 sets of each trap every time I ran out (and had to rest, they have a ranged attack that eventually wears you down). Once you're out of traps, just burst run or get the worrt stuck behind a rock and set up camp to rebuild your traps.
This works with other mobs too, but the Worrt seems like the slowest, and traps land at a really high rate. I didn't find them until I had Traps II, but it might be the best time to start.
