Thread: Chef needing some input from foraging scouts

Ok.. so your local Chef's are desperate for Milk and Eggs since there are several items (in particular the dessert skill tree) that need those items, but they are very difficult to come by. There was a Chef who recently tried foraging around some Bagaserets and found a relatively small amount of milk before moving on.

I'm trying to find if this was something that was scientific (ie programmed into the system to find these items around these creatures) or luck. So any input on this would be really helpful:

1.) Have you ever come across milk/eggs either specific or non-specific (to the creature) when foraging around a creature. Did it seem to matter if there was a lair nearby and what creatures were those that you foraged around.

2.) What skill level of Survival do you have? Do you recall ever coming by Milk or Eggs as foraged items at lower skill levels (such as Survival I)?

Any help would be great and keep in mind if you do come across these products, many chefs, regardless of how horribly poor we are, would likely pay well for these items.

I've yet to see milk & eggs...

Seems too 'normal' for Star Wars to find out in the wilderness. I'll be sure to warn you if Ido though.

That seems a little strange. Most of us don't forage because there's littlepoint in doing it. I've do it once and awile while sitting in camp healing up my hp, but never came across eggs or milk. Try looking towards bio engineer. They might be able to make them.

Currently there is no creation of these items. They are purely loot or foraged. In beta there was some kind of production "harvester" for them, but I guess they were horribly bugged at the time and haven't found their way into release.

Well, if anyone happens to be hunting some non-aggro creatures if they could try a couple /forages around them first just to see if any milk or eggs show up I'd greatly appreciate it. I'll be testing this myself as I have a few scout skills too.

Thanks!

No milk or eggs.

It may be proffession specific kind of like medics have medical foraging and get different items than scouts do with scout foraging. Do chefs have a foraging skill?

I say foraging should be foraging, you get what u get.

Has anyone ever tried to harvest a lair or nest? Might be possible, I never bothered to try. Perhaps that'll get you your eggs.

As far as the milk goes, I've no idea, ain't seen anything like that myself yet.

Ok.. I just bumped myself up to Survival II and I'll try some foraging tomorrow myself to see what I can find out. Any further input/tests from other scouts would be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I have three ranks in survival, and often forage when out hunting these days to feed my CH pet who always seems to be hungry. I've yet to see eggs or milk in my foraging. If I come across some you can bet I'll put it up for sale at the bazaar.

Both of these sound as if they should be looted from the corpses of critters you've killed rather than actually from foraging. I never loot my animal corpses, and perhaps I should think about doing so just to make sure I'm not missing anything.

Ok.. I'll be field testing this tonight (after 9pm PST). I've got Survival II, the skill levelthat the person who originally got these results (/foraging and finding milk around "seemingly milkable" creatures ie. bagasarets) had. Any more input would be greatly appreciated. I'm on Naboo so if someone on Corellia, Tatooine, or other planets could try this out (/forage around creatures and/or creature lairs) and see if they find anything in particular, please either post it here or send me an in-game email. Thanks!

er rather than Bagaserets.. the creature that milk was found on was a Badgerstat (or something like that). Apparantly some kind of Zebra-looking animal.

I use Forage all the time, but I'm on Tantooine.

I've foraged right beside lairs, mobs and just about everything you can imagine. Never seen Milk or Eggs. (even at dieseased Bobcat lairs and they have visable eggs in the lair).

Best thing I have foraged is an Onion forget the name that adds 485 or soto your mind stat.(i'm saving thatfor PvP)I have been to other worlds, and while foraging there I haven't noticed a terrible difference in the items foraged. I get most of the same things I get on my home planet.

May I suggest you try the ranger forum, their fogaging skill is better and they likely can get thing scouts can't. let us know if they can.
