- Small reel-in. Use this to bring the line in some or after a +Catch+
When you start fishing, your line will be between 3 and 12 meters (roughly). If it gets too close, you stop fishing. Tugging and reel-in will all bring your bobber closer.
If you get nibbles, just leave the line alone. If you get a bite, do some sort of tug. This will hopefully hook the fish, resulting in a catch message. On a very rare occassion, you might get a catch without doing anything.
Now, once you get a catch, you either reel it in, it charges towards you, it charges away, or it lets go (way too often if you've ever done real fishing). Since the goal is to bring it in close, the first two are both desireable. If your line wasn't very far out, then you have less work to do.
That's about it.
The big question is Does fishing gve survival XP? hehe. yeah right....
Also I heard that fishing on one planet you have the chance of being eaten. Of course it's rumor. I believe it was planet Rori. i tried fishing once. I got a few bites and nibble. nothing exciting. No catches yet.
I've done a bit of fishing and here's what i found:
1. Keep the line at about 7-8 meters. Anything more and your bait tends to get away from you. Too much closer and you tend not to get any bites (though it does happen).
2. When you get a nibble, a tug up will produce a bite more often than waiting.
3. When you get a bite tug left or right and you will tend to catch the fish.
4.Use small reel-in to bring in your catch (which can stillget away).
Different types of fish are found in the rivers and lakes (I have only done this in Corellia) and it seems that certain fish tend to be more difficult to catch than others and may require slightly different methods to catch them (still trying to figure it out).
Unfortunately for the time it takes to catch the fish, filet it and get your meat and chum... well it sometimes doesn't seem worth it especially since you get NO exp!
