i have found a very effective way to make mask scent work very well. what you do first is find a lair of reds, with no yellows near. i would suggest sevorrts on tatooine, as they are VERY easy to kill and give you 50 exp per harvest. ok what you do is go up to the lair and kill everything around it. you can try to mask scent and walk up to it, but that doesnt usually work. once u have everything cleared out turn mask scent on and shoot once or twice and the lair, then stop. creatures will start to spawn and when they do they check the scent and 9 out of 10 times u will get the exp off it. i have done this to 13 different lairs and it has only failed me twice. with the sevorrts u get 75 scout xp for mask scent, plus an additional 50 for the harvest = 125 scout xp per sevorrt also i would like to say that i did not think of this, i got it from another person and wanted to try it out. it works very well and i encourage everyone who needs fast scout xp to use it

i have been experimenting more with this and diseased bobcats are even better, 91 mask scent xp and 59 harvest, plus they are very easy to kill
