Thread: Poll: /Forage XP = Risk and/or Time & How much
I was wondering.. when I eat a GREAT thing, for example Flurr-cle Onion with an action of +517,51s why does the benefit only last a couple seconds? And even during that time period the bar *STILL* has to fill in some.
I like the ideathat foraging for items that can be eatin produce positive results. I just would like to see a guide on how each item foraged is best used.
1. depends on success and time it takes to forage. I would say a player should be able to gain about 700xp in survival for 20min of foraging taking into account success and failures.
2. I would say little to no risk, just remove the ability to macro the command such that you need to /froage, or hit the button, each time.
3. Time between, I would say 5 seconds, you would know pretty quick if you found something or not and move on. This is not at all comporable to artisans and sampling.
If you want to make the skill more interesting vary the exp based on the dangerousness of the area... i.e you get a lot less exp near or close to towns versus say deep desert/forest. Also LOK, Dantooine etc would give even more exp. The more dangerous the environment from the natural critters that can spawn near you the more exp.
Poll:
1. How much XP should be given per item foraged?
With adding XP the risk or time between forage should be increased, mianlly to stop AFK macroers, so on the risk side I like to see something like UO's fishing, some like 1 in 30 chance to turn over a rock or find in a bush a snake. With time I thing something like surveying has, which currently is a 30sec timer between sampling.
2. How much risk should there be?
3. How much time between forages?
~~~~~~~~~~~~
1. 10
2. 1 in 30 chance in getting a blue per item foragedable and 1 in 75 chance in getting awhite per item foragedable.
3. none
