I am still at Explore 2, and have yet to get maskscent to work, but does anyone know if it is still worth it to head over to Lok at Explore 3. I do plan on heading there at Explore 4 so I can work on hunting 2, 3 ,4.

If I did go to Lok at Explore 3 would it be *** Instant Death?

It will work to get you better XP then by Killing and harvesting. It will be dangerous ...very dangerous. But I think you could survive if you go slow...avoid yellows on the radar because the maskscent will drop all the time they come out. And definately insure when you get there..or prior to getting there. You may not want to stay long and i know you dont want to make many corpse runs there

But which got you more XP?

I would not recommend going to LOK to ms. I have been there and ms is utterly usless for me (ex3 human). Your better off doing some destroy missions. Try to get with a Rifleman or Brawler so that all of the corpses are yours for the harvesting. This way you can also do 4 or 6 missionsat thesame time... and if you get them in the same direction... wow... you can really get some xp.

Harvesting is also good if you plan to be a CH. You will see lots of different creatures especially if you try to harvest from different planets. Then you can waypoint the creatures you think will be cool pets to go back to later. In the end, the CHs with the coolest pets will be the ones whowondered looking for nests to harvest, instead of running a straight line with ms on.

I've been to Lok and personally made it halfway through Exp IV, by using maskscent there but heres the thing. With the "nerf" now in effect, I personally feel it is too dangerous, unless you like cloning. I wasted my last two newbie (free) clones there, trying to hop a shuttle back to the more civilized planets...Why you ask? A trio of camped pirate something or others in the middle of the starport. Somehow, luckily, I managed to sneak (maskscent doesn't work on them of course) up and catch the ticket collector right as the shuttle landed. I don't know why the pirates didn't detect me...I was well within sight and only about 10m from the closest...Maybe after spanking you two or three times, they don't feel you are worth the trouble. Needless to say, I am not going back to Lok unless I have some friends or am better prepared to solo there.

Anyone else have some hints, I would like to know if anyone else has tried Lok post nerf at Explore 3.

I have explore 3 and hunt 3 and going to Lok isn't too productive becasue of the timer aswell as all the yellows that drop your MS. I've gone to Lok to get some scout xp twice and both trips were pretty short because I got Dbed or it was just too boring. I recommend taking some destroy missons and harvesting everything you kill. That's more exciting aswell as less dangerous and you get cash for it. Lok is also pretty much deserted and the missons on Lok are very dangerous.

What I'm doing for scouting exp is missions. I pick 2 missions that are for aggressive critters (diseased vrelk or something like that), kill any yellows that might be around the lair, then maskscent, kill, and harvest. So, I get exp from the maskscent, from the harvesting, weapon exp, and cash rewards.

It's not what I would call incredibly fast, but it does maximize your exp.

I tried Lok at Explore III, and found MS failed way too often to be useful. Once I hit Exlplore IV however MS wouldn't get knocked offsoeasilyafter applying it, and became effective once again. So I'd suggest using harventing to get to Explore IV and then use MS to get you the rest of the scouting XP you need.
