Thread: Determining Creature DL
Il,
It would help if I knew what you meant by "DL".
Do you mean CL, as in Creature Level? I don't believe that that is a Master Scout only skill (As CHs would need that, and they don't need to be Master Scouts to get it), but I could be wrong - I've been a Master Scout for so long, I don't even notice anymore. ![]()
I'll have to ask Brisc's brother Wilsc if he can see CL when he's crafting.

Recently I discovered that when I examine a creature, I no longer can see what DL it is.
However in the recent past I've been able to do such, when i examine a creature I could tell what DL it is.
Is this because I gave up Master Scout recently ?

Since we're asking for definitions (I apologize if this is off-topic) what exactly does BAF mean? I've seen it mentioned several times in posts in reference to hunting.
Yes, only a Master Scout is able to see the CL of an umtamed creature. Numerous CH's don't have the ability because they only get the exploration and hunting IV from scout.
BAF is a term used with agro means Bring Along a Friend.

IIRC it's listed as Difficulty Level on the examine panel. I've never understood why people call it CL.
BAF = Bring A Friend
ie. when you hit one critter all the critters around them come at you as well :-)
So how does one gauge Difficulty Level? What do I compare it against? Is the Difficulty Level determined by your skill levels or is it just the base level of the creature?

Zio,
It's a base number. It's really not that useful to us, but it gives you a relative idea of how tough something is. If you see a level 14 creature that you've never seen before, but you know that a Kaadu is also level 14 (I'm not saying that it is - this is just an example) it gives you something to compare it to.
