I know a lot of people are upset at this, but I like it myself.
When you shoot a critter now, it attacks immediately -- this is a GOOD thing for us Scouts.
Previous to this I had questioned the usefulness of traps (see former post by me) because I could just hit maskscent, walk up to a yellow or red con'd critter, go prone, and /legShot2 it 5 or 6 times until it attacked then endure a coupla hits while I finished it off.
Traps, for the most part, were something I didn't use because my Laser and EE3 Carbines could handle anything.
Now, however, I've found a new love for Phecnacine traps. Those traps actually do the job of letting me get 3, 4 or even 5 good shots in on a target before it is able to attack me successfully.
This puts Scouts in a more useful situation in groups for the same reasons.
Sure it makes missions a little more challenging, but it also can be thought of as a "Stealth Buff" for us because now it makes out traps MORE important and MORE useful.
Not to mention I got more Trapping XP last night than I've gotten in a single evening since I started. I'm well on my way to Trapping IV (should be tonight if I don't get too drunk [grin]).
(Side node: If I do make trapping IV and survival IV tonight...look for a large fireworks show on Theed near the Cantina. (Fireworks are a truly fun method for grinding crafting XP). Maybe I'll even serve some Jawa Beer too.)

FUna,
If you can't find any up and coming scouts who need the AXP, look me up. I'll train ya.
