I have noticed some traps fail quite often on some creatures. I cannot figure out the pattern though. I threw about 40 traps (6 different kinds) and all but 1 or 2 failed. It seems weird that they ALL didn't fail. Why did a couple work?

Anyway, what creatures yield the highest Trapping XPwithout all the failures? I will be hunting solo and in groups.

It depends on your levels. If you are at Trapping IV, you'll hit much more than at Trapping III. I would suggest getting a group and going out and finding Fambaas - they generally are pretty easy to get Trapping XP from - so long as someone else is holding the aggro.
