Is there any better way to get trap XP then tossing traps at low level creatures? They never have an effect on upper level creatures.

You have to start off small and work your way up. Yes you could try to use them on the bigger MOBs, but you have a higher failure rate when you do that. As you work your way up, trapping bigger ones will become easier. Just stick with itand you will do fine.

Checl Delta's guide for more info too!!!

I'm about half way through trapping III and I figure that I should be able to trap at least something like a Bantha or a Ronto, but it never works.

Go out and get yourself a rock beetle (if u don’t have CH skills) because they have armor and don’t do to much damage then send it on a good sized creature, stand back and use all your traps (don’t have your gun out at this point). I did this and when you have 8 different traps to use and you get 100-125 per trap things go fast. After you have used 1 of each trap pull out you gun and take it down. I found trapping to be the fasted part of scout tree

one of the biggest things to keep in mind while you try togain trapping xp is that multiple traps effect different things. Right now, working my way through advanced trapping, I spend most of my time lobbing 5 or six traps at each creature. I'll hit it with an adhesive mesh to hold it down, then follow with bone spurs (because I'm a rifleman and every little bit helps) and noise makers. Essentially remember, especially when you get traps that slow down your target, to throw in an extra trap between attacks, it weakens your target AND gives you more XP. It's extremely helpful and (especially when throwing stuff like glow juice or glow wire traps) helpful for both you and anyone you may be grouped with.

Trapping XP was the hardest for me to get because I relied WAY too much on blasters, specifically carbines.

Now that I've started going after larger critters like Kaadu's and Peko Pekos (solo without a pet) I've found traps to be priceless. The Phecnacine-Lecepamine combo was great for a Carbine Specialist like me to immobilize then hurt the targets action bar. Once I started keeping a supply of both traps and using them at every opportunity the XP just flowed in.

On Naboo I can tell you that Kaadu's and Krevols give you some decent trapping XP. Be sure to go after the Spiked Krevols with Phecnacine and take it out while slowed -- only problem is that Krevols BAF. The Horned Krevols are much weaker and are 1-2 shot kills if you have some Level 2/3 marksman skills. Male Kaadus also BAF, but the Females don't. Kill any males FIRST...then hit the females.

Kaadu's are what I used to grind my trapping XP because they're predictable, make weird noises, give good trapping XP, and look downright silly.

I felt the same way when I started my Trapping grind. What I finaly ended up doing was going to a harder planet (Like Endor) and walk around until you find a Red creature that does not Death Blow. Then I lined my Macro Bar with 6 sets of traps. I stuck with mostly mesh and lepitne (Is that what it is? The two you can make when you start trapping) Anyway I would target a Red creature and start tossing traps over and over. I would miss every few times, but when they did hit I would get about 350 Trapping points each. If I could not get away I would let them incap me. (just make sure you do not get incapped more than 3 times in 10 minutes.) Once I was healed I would do it all over again. I was able to get from Trapping 3 to the end of trapping 4 in one evening.

Good Luck.
