Thread: Selling back scout skills, what will I loose
Hunting (lvl 4):
What would I loose by removing those skills. It is a long time I had only nov scout and I didn't see a huge difference in how much you harvest. But I didn't hunt high-level creature at that time. If I get 30 hides with Hunt4 how much would I get with just nov scout?
Selling creature resources is not a big income anyway so I can stand getting less. Another issue is creature knowledge which might be loss. I usually examine a creature to know which the vulnerabilities are (don't want to use that Laser Carb on a creature with high energy resist). I don't remember at which level you get the info about resists/vuln and deathblow (second most important to know). But OTOH there are lots of web sites with this information.
Exploration (lvl 4 now):
I really don't want to loose terrain negotiation since I do a lot running around setting up my harvesters. I think I will keep lvl 3 since I don't get any terrain neg on lvl 4. Burst run eff/mask scent is also useful but I think I can lower that to explor 3 at least.
Exploration tree is probably the last that will go, if I remove it at all (keep lvl 3 probably).
Dropping hunting will get rid of creature to-hit bonuses (only valueable to ranged hunters) as well as what you've already mentioned.
Your harvesting at Novice Scout will drop considerably from Hunting IV. If your getting 30 hides from a creature at Hunting IV, you'll probably get about5 at Novice level (guessing, but I have a Novice Scout on Tempest and I think that's about right)
Creature-to-hit, oh yes. I have forgotten about that. But it is only +10 and is on hunting 2.
Not sure that there is such a huge difference in harvesting. At least with lower-level creatures like Durni/Crazed Durni I don't remember it was a lot less than I get today. My guess is that the creature harvest bonus is how much more you get in percent or something (i.e. 45% more with +45 creature harvesting)
