Thread: Modular Camp Proposal

I would like to direct you to a new camping system proposal being devised in the Ranger forum.
We are looking to see if such a system would be amiable to the Scout profession.

Good effort, but I don't think it will go through. The main reason for this is that you're aiming way too high. There are some parts of that proposal that makes it sound like you want these camps to rival faction bases or even PRCs. I hate to say it, but they are just camps.
If I were in your camp (
) I would push for little changes to camps, like having BF be healed in high level camps. I would then push more on the "I should be able to shoot the eye out of a rancor" side of the equation. I'm not quite shure how tracking works, but if It is like the rest of the game, it could use some advancement, too.
Go for your other skills. Don't crusify me, but they are just camps.

You are right... They are simply camps.
Unlike a Faction Base which is permanent (except for the whole vunerability thing
),camps wouldhave a set duration and after that time runs out, they disband automatically.
Deploying a fortification prior toa battle couldbe a defining factor in how a battle plays out, as killing the camps tender would mean the loss of the camp and all its bonuses.
i rather enjoyed the idea.
And i tip my hat off to the ranger correspondant who has OBVIOUSLY made an attempt to include SL's int he proposal and not try to impinge on anything we would like, such as the fortification kits. It is nice to have it realized that we are here too and need soemhting to go with out own survival requirements.
I liked the idea....howeve ri would just be happy with a set parameter...liek "this fortification kit grants THESE set bonuses" etc etc
Random Thoughts:
- The best parts of that proposal address experimentation and resources.
- The ability to change the camp tender is also a great idea.
- I thought I read about having camps increase regen rates, but now I can't find it. Either way, it's a good idea.

As Irott has stated, it is obvious that you all have put effort into including our profession, and I thank you for the thought. The idea of customized camps is great. Things like the Creature Pheromone Emitter,Creature Offensive Hide , and Fiels Hospitals are all great, and I would love for rangers to be able to do those things. It would help them, help my group, and help the game.
I don't agree that these camps should have PvP applications, however. Things like the Covert Detector and Arms Emplacement cross that line. All of your best ideas are those that perfectly fit with Ranger. When you include SL with your ideas, they fall off the bench. Separate them out. Hides and Vet bays and everything else, even garages, work well with Rangers. Human barriers, weapons emplacements, etc should be crafted by artisans and sold to SLs to be deploid independantly.
P.S.
One idea: Let SL "fortifications" stand alone, but be able to join with Ranger camps to make something powerfull in both PvP and PvE.
