a couple of months ago i posted the idea of letting everyone have the ability to use basic camp kits (not craft them) as it would give scouts another source of income. the post was high rejected in reguards to it making scouts useless. I figured i would bring it up again in reguards to the change that now everyone one can call their pets/droids/vehicals anywhere now with out the use of camps.

what is a better soulution for us, to allow everyone to use (not craft) basic camp kits or allow pets/vehicals/droids to be pulled with out the use of camps?

Although I initiated the post in the core systems forum where TH posted that you'd be able to pull stuff out without a camp, I personally prefer this system, you still need a camp, you still need scouts to craft it, but you don't have to drop 15 points to be able to put it up.

I did mention it as one of the two options in the first post, I like the new change regarding vehicles, but I never wanted to see pets/droids be callable without camps, that just doesn't feel "right" to me.

I don't know about that dude. You ever try setting up one of them tent kits from the box with all the poles and stuff. Its pretty complicated, thank God forboy scouts.

I couldn't even imagine trying to do one made out of bone and hide, then having it make a datapad out of bone and hide, seems kinda complex to me.

You're already getting the ability to pull your droids/pets/vehicles/mounts without camps. You don't need the ability to pull a camp out as well.

If you want that ability - pick up Scout.

Same reason why if you want to use a pistol, you pick up marksman, or if you want to heal damage you pick up Medic.

This argument should be totally dead now - there is absolutely no justifiable reason why everyone should get basic camps now that this requirement has been dropped.

I think the idea was purely that people should get the ability to drop a basic pet/vehicle/droid calling camp INSTEAD of having the prerequisite for camps dropped which is the current plan.

As far as I can tell, this issue has already been decided.

While I'm not a big fan- I prefer the not needing camps at all. That way the healing benefits still remain with proprietary to us.

Ah yes, but if I can pull out my 110 rated medical droid, I get the same healing rate as a hospital, so why would I need the camp ?

If the two *stacked* on the other hand...

Oooh, ooh, I'll tell you what would make people love field bases and higher order camps.

Make them cure disease faster

N'Raas and I are working on getting the Ranger modular camp idea implemented. That'll hopefully make camping more robust.

And not everyone's got the skill to use a medical droid.

ummm, ranger here.

so you are saying you would completely make camps usless instead of giving everyone the ability to us our basic camp.

and the arguement was to fight for camps being still required to pull pets and droids, just let everyone be able to use a basic camp, so camps dont fall of the face of the earth.

No. What I'm saying is that the Devs have already decided that they're going to remove the requirement of camps for pulling vehicles/etc. Arguing with them at this point is pointless - the decision has already been made. I disagreed with the decision, but I'm not going to run around whining about it now. Instead, we need to move forward.

What we need to do now is work on making camps more useful. Go read N'Raas' post "Modular Camp v 4." on the Ranger forums. I am firmly behind this idea, and I think that it'll go much farther in making camps useful than anything else I've seen proposed.

Giving basic camps to everyone is unnecessary now, as the primary reason for doing so - so anyone can pull a pet/vehicle whereever - is no longer a problem.
