Thread: What professions do you put with scout and I have an idea.
Hi everyone. I wanted to ask what people put with scout (partly because I want to see how many people master it and dont go bounty hunter or ranger) and I thought it would be a nice read if enough people reply to this.
As for my idea, I would like to ask my fellow scouts what they think of it. First off I love being a scout and have some weird thing about only mastering scout and not ranger or bounty hunter. I have been thinking about a templet that is kind of off the wall, which I like and thought some other scouts would maybe want to give some input on it and give some advice if you have any. My templet is master scout/master weapon profession, not sure which one yet/ and getting some if not maybe mastering merchant.
The point of this profession is I have always wanted to start a resource shop and I love the scout profession. I would be able to have multiple stores because I would have merchant skills. Plus another reason I am posting this is i'm not sure how to do my pricing of resources, though I do have an idea. I was thinking for most resources I would base it on either melability or OQ, each 100 quality I would charge 1 credit and for some things like avian meat I would charge a nice little sum because docters will pay it. I would love some feed back.

I chose Pistoleer, and it works for me. Also Ranger, but that's beside the point. I have Novice Medic and Pharm 1 to use stim Bs.
But, as things change - an idea.
Don't put all your eggs in one basket and think you will be happy forever. Play around with different weapons and professions and see what works for you. I have XP in unarmed, carbine, rifle, artisan, medic, squad leader and creature handler. Not a lot, tho some is maxed, but ya never know what you may want to try next.
Mess with a bunch of stuff and see what is the most fun.

Once I mastered scout, I went on to ranger, again beside the point.
I'm also going rifleman and I can solo critters that con red for me more often than not (conceal shot is beautiful). The harvest of these is gr8 tbh.
But as JB says, have a mess about and see what u enjoy - I wanted to be a rifleman since I started playing, but I did try others before I decided it was definitely the onefor me.
I know what u mean about getting something in your head as well. When I first started playing I really liked the idea of Master Scout/Master Rifleman/Master Creature Handler. The amount of Creature handlers I saw in the first few days put me right off though and I think it will be quite a while before I try it.
Although saying that, how many scouts do you see around? That didn't put me off.
:/
Reb,
I think your idea is fine. As a resource Scout who wants to start a store, I would suggest that you pick a combat profession that you enjoy. Swordsman is good for soloing, as is rifleman. Really, any of them would be worth it. The majority of Scouts that I know tend to go rifleman, just because that seems to fit their perception of the kind of role a Scout would play. I personally am a Swordsman now.
Hopefully others will have some good ideas here for you, too.

Master Scout, and Artisan, Medic, Pistoleer, DE (now).....im kinda ranged around. But i chose scout and artisan for cash so my pistol can whip animals and i don't have to worry about the ticket cost....lol
yeap...pistoleer is sweet.....when you're in a party, you can lay the smack down with the pistol whip.
*grin*
Hmmmmm....... It looks like people like to go riflemen and swordsmen, a strange idea but sounds kind of cool. As for not being able to keep your vender stocked with resources, that is hard to do, but if its hard to do that means you are making good money right? I would have to think so. The hole riflemen thing is just way to slow for my taste, since I started the game I planned on going pistoleer but have tried a few things and now am ready to go for master pistoleer, I think lol.
