Thread: hunting parties....when the fun begins.

my guild and i just went hide hunting for our budding armorsmith. I have got to say..the fun in this game really shines when you have a well rounded party. We had a huge wookie with a flamethrower, two Zabraks (both with pistols), and a Trandoshian TKA novice (the rookieof the group).
After about two hours we amassed quite a large amount of hide (thank you Bantha). and i have tosay tehre is nothingfunner than being caught inbetween a tuskan spawn, imp camp, and two Banthanests when you have a good team. Why do you ask am i putting this on the boards?Well, as aMaster Scout i used my masterful terrain negotiation and burst run efficiency to run in andpistol whip at leastfive various tuskans and bantha (yes i am a pistoleer) then zip back out with unerring efficiency that we master scouts have.
On top of that i would go and harvest huge quantities of the wooly hidefrom the banthas, and for two hours, my guild and i were in blissful battle. It is moments like this that i love being amaster scout!
Sorry i jut had to share this with you guys. I am so happy about my burst run time now....i can literaly zipin circles around someone while they can just stand there. I led at leasthalf of the banthas on a merry chase right into the maws of our Wookie's crossfire and it was SOOOOO satisfying.
Allis right in the galaxy for me. *grin*
Sounds like a blast (fun intended). I solo for most of my "serious" hunting, but this is mostly because I prefer out of the way places to hunt, like Talus and Rori. However, I always enjoy a good group, regardless of any "material" gain or lack there of. To me at least, the really important thing is to find some people you enjoy hunting with, any resources or mission money you get out of it is just gravy.
That's my two credits....
Talus is not out of the way, I happen to live there.
And the hunting rocks. 900m missions for tortur, 70-100 units of hide/bone/meat average with a 6k payout. It's flat, sunny - well, beware of the monsoons, vis goes to 8 meters at times, and not too many aggros mess with ya.
As soon as the Imps realize they can't take our base...(silly imps, its us-9 atsts dropped, them - 0 turrets taken out) I will get back to hunting seriously.
Anyhow, Talus is the best unkept secret of the game for the hunters out there.

Maybe I should have said "off the beaten path" rather than "out of the way places". Talus is easy to get to, but even at "peak times" there's hardly anyone there (at least in my experience). Don't get me wrong that's one of the things I like about it. Still semi-wild, with easy access to Corellia (and the glut of merchants, smiths, etc... that reside there). Talus does indeedrock for a scout/ranger character.

Yes Talus is a nice place for hunting for sure, very recommendable.
And those Imps, yes they are silly. Taking AT-ST's into battle is nowadays not exactly what ppl good at PvP would do
