Thread: suggestion for fish gathering.

i dont know about a vehicle for fishing but i think they should make the amount of fish you get per catch reflect your harvesting abilitywich might make it worth fishing cause right now 100cpu for the time invested is fair if i was able to collect it faster then ya the price would drop .

As a Master BE we need 25 fish to make pet stimpack D. Which, incidentally, is the reason you don't see any being produced. I would like to offer these to people who own pets. However, 100 cpu is a ridiculous price and resuse to pay that amount. So my suggestion would be a Fish trawler vehicle made by a master artisan which gathers fish at 1000 units per houror roughly the same rate as manual surveying under the artisan tree. This vehicle could only be used my master scouts.The master scout would cruise large bodies of water collecting fish to sell. I know I would definately pay 20-30 cpu for any quality fish if it were easily attainable. Currently the fishing mini-game isn't cutting it and no one is willing to provide the fish we need.
Doctors have Stimpack D which is fairly easily attainable. Droid engineers can make Droid stimpack D fairly easily. BEs have a tough time making pet stimpack C because of high skill cost to be effective and low combat skills.

What server do you play on? Fish meat may not be the most preveilent resource, but that's far higher than my normal price. I usually charge 10-20 cpu, depending on the quality. There is no risk in fishing, other than boredom. Ironically, I usually fish to take a break from hunting, so I rarely sell much fish (usually just a few hundred units every now and then).

I am on Sunrunner. Ahazi seems to be the highest price server in the game. It's nearly impossible for a newbie to even think about starting there. I am offering 25-30 cpu for fish meat on my vendors and I am still not getting any offers for fish. Before you go off the deep end trying to flame for my offering only 25-30 cpu for fish. Ahazi is more populated than Sunrunner, which means more credits are floating around in the system so 100 cpu for fish is probably not uncommon. I Defiunately wouldnt expect to sell fish on testcenter for 25 cpu which I am offering on Sunrunner.

well ofcourse a servers economy directly effects price and on ahazi i dont sell for my price but any less that that and its not worth my time i could be making more doing somthing else and i think that should also be considered when priceing any goods what is your time worth doing it. and dont underestimate what your time is worth, and in not talking about janta missions or whatever but what else could you be collecting that would make you more cash. granted its not all about the credits you should be having some fun while out there but then again the other guy buying the stuff is going to make money on it so should you.

I think its in the Rangers forum but we have been talking about fishing nets. Even the devs have said that there should be more fish meat in game. Since the power of Pet Stim D's is nearly twice that of the C its worth it for any pet owner. But the usual i see good fish meat going for is 20cpu. Mostly because there is no danger in fishing. And any non-combantant can do it. Its just a matter of time. Theres a good sticky on power-fishing that every scout should learn. Since it really does help add it up quick. Well quick as in 1500 a day or so.

I didnt think you needed scout to fillet it. But if they changed it thats interesting.

Like I said, you guys on Ahazi are multibillionaires and can easily afford 100 cpu. It is definately not like that on Sunrunner. So on Sunrunner 100 cpu for any resource is a very ridiculous price. Another perspective... 1 crate of brandy on Sunrunner averages for about 120k. OnAhazi, all the vendors I have seen sell crates of brandy for well over double the price. I have plenty more examples to cite if you wish...

1 Advanced Chemical Release Duration Mechanism - (about 2.5 minutes in a factory)
-160 cr for the herbivore meat
- 1 cr for the class 4 petrochem fuel
3 Identical Advanced Bioeffect controllers - (about 2.25 minutes in a factory each)
-137 cr for the Lokian wild wheat
-137 cr for the Tatooine Fiberplast
Total Factory time: approx: 12.5 minutes each
Break even cost for just the resources is 2918 credits. Then add the travel costs, factory costs on the components and stimpack itself. Now put yourself in my shoes since I told you this information on making a pet stimpack D. Is it worth it it pay someone 100 cpu for fish to make something that will just sit on my vendors because they are very cost prohibitive. If i pay 25 cpu for fish I can bring the price down to about 6-7keach which is more realistic on Sunrunner.

look i get i got it before im not saying pay ppl 100cpu on your server obviosly with the economy on your server ppl an get what they need with alot less but you should still consider there time if ppl will fish for 25cpu there then great. but if someone spends all day fishing for you when they get the paycheck they should be able to have enough in it that makes them smile ya that amount is going to be diffrent for each server. you gotta remember fishin is kinda boring once youve done it awhile thats why alot of ppl dont do it simply put you have to make it worth the bordom of fishing whatever that price may be.
