Thread: Suggestions for making creature samples useful

Now, creature samples arent exactly "rare" by any means, and in most cases searching a hive isnt exactly "dangerous" either, but I dont think this should mean they need to be completely useless. Wich they are right now. I'd say, make them a little more dangerous to get, and a little more rare, but make them usefull in several ways. These are my suggestions:

1. Creature Habitats...Why not make a creature habitat a nice peice of furniture? Like an aquarium of sorts? Each creature sample has a unique visual effect when released anyway, so why not stick that effect into a glass box, and set it in your living room? This would make both Creature habitats a lucrative crafting venture for Artisans, and gathering Creature samples a worthwhile endevor for Scouts. Plus, if donewell it would make a really cool centerpeice for Player houses. (Personally, in my noobishness, I thought a Creature Sample was an aquarium of sorts, and was sorely dissapointed when I finally got one)

2.Fishing Bait...Allow scouts to craft a sort of "Advanced bait" by combining Bone, Bait, and a Creature Sample (Hook, feed, and lure) Perhaps even allow artisans to craft an improved version.

To campensate, maybe make searching lairs harder or more dangerous. Like having to kneel or prone to be able to search, making you more vunerable. Or maybe searching agros that lairs creatures within a certian radius...or maybe spawns/damages the hive making it more dangerous.

Anyways...I got hundreds of the darn things and I just want sumthin cool to do with them

PS I apologize if this is the wrong place for this, or if these have been suggested before.

Why do you keep these less than useless things? I get one, it's destroyed.

The only good use I saw of these things was at a party. The people there all got one, and released whatever was in the hab all at the same time. Looked cool, for all of 5 secs.

That and they give novice artisans something to make.

Not bad ideas tho.

Well my inventory is relatively empty hwen I go out exploring/hunting...but yeah they are the first things to go if I need room. The rest I just dump in my house. Plus, I only recently found out how useless they are.

My point is, they dont need to be useless. They dont give low level artisans something to make, becauseartisans dont bother with seeking samples, a most scouts that know what do do with the samples dont bother with keeping them.

It just seems odd to have something in the game that has no use. Ive only been playing a month...did something get nerfed at some point?

Trip,

No - nothing got nerfed.

It's interesting. There is a TON of "junk" type stuff that is of no real use in the game. And some people even pay very, very good money for the stuff. Look at the paintings. Look at the rug pieces. I've seen completed rugs going for millions of credits. There are collectors in real life and collectors in the game.

Folks like this stuff to use in decorating their houses - some people like being able to do this. This was just another little bit of decoration to add.

And you have to admit that a couple of them do look cool for their five seconds of life. Now if i could just see the bird in my bird cage it would be a great decoration. But thats off topic for a scout forum

Its it a high tech far far away past. Its open but theres a force field stopping the bird (that you cant see thanks devs) from getting away.
