Hello fellow Scouts & Rangers

I've just come back to the game after about 6 months away. Wow! - lots of changes and more to come I see.

Anyway. I used to be able to figgure out prices for my harvested resources by searching the Bazaar. Now it seems that few people use the thing for buying and selling anymore.

What is a reasonable amount to sell things for these days? I used to get away with pricing things at (Quality/100) per unit. Does this formula hold anymore in this new solo player, buff rampant economy? Would it be charging too much? too little.

Thanks in advance for your help. :-)

Your formula would make you charge way to little. Most grind quality organics would go for a minimum of 15 cpu, and any high quality organics, especially avian, woolyand herbivore would go for much more than that. Good oq and pe avian (900+ in each) can easily be sold for 100 cpu. The prices may vary depending on your server, but hologrinding has driven prices through the roof.

I've been playing about a month, really love it, and I'm stacking up resources I don't know what to do with outside of making camps, traps, and simple stimpaks. I've looked around trying to figure out what vendors are buying what, and for how much, but it just keeps being over my head. On this thread, for instance, "Quality/100" and "pe" don't mean much to a noob like myself. I guessed "og" meant organic. I went to a vendor outside of Coronet who was flashing "Buying Resources" but I couldn't find a way to figure out what was being bought for how much. I offered some material, but had to set my price at a wild guess, and of course it was turned down, no idea why, since it was an automated attendant, or whatever they're called in the game. This has to be a constant question that I am now asking for the seventybillionth time, but is there any index or resource or reference that in general will tell a novice scout what kind of hide, bone, meat or fish is being bought by who at what kind of market value? I'm cramming my hides into safe deposit boxes and wishing I knew how to tap this income stream. Thanks in advance to the worthy veterans who have the patience to answer noob questions over and over. I did go to swgcreatures, but couldn't find this kind of information either - lots of creature stats that I assume would be super useful to someone who understood the market application of the stat.

Ok I'll try and help you out a little. First off there really isn't a set price for anything. I recommend using the in-game search feature and searching for an artisan and asking them if they'd being willing to buy your hide/bones. They will probably ask you what the quality is. Here is where the price comes into play. If you examine the hide/bones it will have various stats. The higher the numbers the better, 1000 being the highest. Basically from what I have seen you really want 2 of the stats to be over 800 for it to be considered good. Then you can charge a good price. Anywhere from 5-500 credits per unit (cpu). So lets say you have 500 units of an average quality hide. Put those 500 units for sale at the maximum amount of 6000 credits and see if anyone buys it. If not try it again at 5000 credits and so on until it is sold. I recommend putting it for sale in a large city (Coronet, Theed) as more players will see the item for sale.

Thanks, that helps. A dim bulb is starting to glow, trying to understand grind quality at swgcraft and taking that back to swgcreature. Also, just bumping the thread back up in case another Wise Elder cares to drop a pearl. ;P

ok here is the best thing for you to do find yourself a chef doctor boiengeneer and an armorsmith ask them what they use and the atribute(s) they need to be high when you find the stuff that drops what they need thats what to collect. for instance with avian meat (docs love this stuff) it needs to have high OQ (overall quality) and PE(potential energy) those are the stats that are most importiant to the docs. so once you have somthing that is desireable what do you do with it? well if you dont have a buyer for it set up an aution on the trade forum (have a stack of atleast 10k to sell) set you min bid at the lowest price you are willing to part with it for if you want set a buy out on it (make sure the buy out isnt too low) bump that thread when nesesry and it will sell if its good stuff. oncee you have a buyer for somthing talk with them about setting up contracts for resourses. just make sure if you have a contract for a perticular resourse you fill it promptly.

Thanks! This was also a very helpful reply. I just sold avian meat to a Doctor for the first time this week, and I feel I'm getting my feet under me in this crazy, volatile game economy.What fun! Thanks again.

Okay, here is a short primer on resources and knowing what to harvest and when.

1) Each of the crafting professions has one or more key ingredients that will always be difficult to find. Because of the resource shifting, more and more crafters, be they doctors or armorsmiths, are resorting to hording mass quantities of high quality resources. The effect on the in-game economy is pure inflation. Here's an example.

Since I used to be a Master DocI was only interested in DR, PE and OQ. Now thatI Hunt Avian and Herb Meat I use the following calculator to work out my prices. I add up the DR, PE and OQ values to give a single figure. Assuming that I find a rare meat that contained 999 for each value It would give me a final figure of 3000 (rounding up). NowI would want to sell this for 40cpu. Now I use the following equation.

MV = Maximum Value = 3000 (DR + PE + OQ)

MP= Maximum price = 40cpu

Acpu = Actual credit per unit

Amv = Actual Value

Acpu = Amv x MP/MV.

So, say we have xyz meat with the following stats

DR=425

PE=221

OQ=944

then the equation becomes Acpu = (425+221+944) x 40 / 3000

= 1590 x 40 / 3000

= 63600 / 3000

= 21.2 cpu

SoI then sell the meat for 21.2 credits per unit... with success.
