Thread: Report from the TC

Howdy all. I'm one of the scouts on the Test Center, and thought I'd give you a quick update on the latest patch that has been pushed there.


First, the bad news -- the bugs I've picked up so far (copied from a TC forum thread)


Scout bugs I've picked up on so far


(1) /maskscent is nonfunctional -- this is discussed above. (ed. note: someone had already mentioned this in the thread -- every time you try to mask scent, you get a message stating "although you may be a very clean person, you lack the skill to mask your scent from animals".)


(2) Camp crafting does not give any xp. It doesn't give general crafting xp (as designed) -- but it also doesn't give wilderness survival xp. I also checked to see if I was getting trapping or scouting xp -- nope.


(3) SUPER-quick camp xp generation. I know this was supposed to be changed up -- but it's been changed WAY up. I sit solo in a 2-person camp, and I've got my max 675xp in about 5 minutes. Just an observation -- this might be what was intended.


(4) Camps seem to disband much quicker now when you leave them or enter into combat. But not always.

Now, on to some GOOD things....


-- The overall "ability to avoid aggro" system does indeed seem to have changed. Creatures are less likely to aggro you if you're deliberately trying to avoid them. Basically, aggro has occured for me (since the patch) only if I'm running directly at the critter, or at the lair, or at a baby. Which makes the loss of /maskscent due to the bug a bit easier to deal with.


-- If the hyper-accelerated camp xp described above isn't a bug -- well, grinding out survival xp won't be much of a problem anymore.

And finally, some observations:


-- In case you're wondering, the resource cost to build camp kits has SIGNIFICANTLY increased. Basic camps are now 10 hide/4 bone, 2-persons are 20 hide/8 bone. I'm not up to the advanced camp level yet, but I'm guessing they'll be in the 40 hide / 20 bone range. I'll ask one of the Rangers to check for me.


-- I haven't tested the fishing changes yet, nor the group harvesting changes, but I haven't heard anyone else complaining about them yet..... which is a good sign that they work.....


-- I have no idea what "added field requisitions to camps" means either. I see no substantive change in the crafting method for camps, at least for the basic and 2-person models. Nor are there any changes to the camps themselves.

Thank you VERY much for passing this info on.


I've not yet created a character on Test Center yet, despite having downloaded the software a few days ago.


Thanks for this update, and I hope that you can pass it on to Vass and the other devs as well. I'll send a note on to my contact as well.
