Ok, I confess, I'm grinding through the survival tree. I'm currently 5k away from being done and getting survival 4. (all for the 2nd time, did all this on another server once before)

Here's the deal: I'm usingmy multi-person kit. Now hear me when i say this- there are no variables here. period. There are no visitors coming to my camp at all, I have zero wounds that would be healing if I had them. Nothing, I repeat, nothing is going on here to modify the xp granted.

I set up a camp, leave it for 14 mins. Disband. 627 xp. Do it again, this time for oh say 16 minutes (semi-afk, I read the boards and get distracted from checking the time) and disband only to get 595. Yet again set up, leave it 15 mins, 395 xp. Do it again, wait 14 minutes, 627.

What is going on here? I seriously cannot figure the system out, unless it is just devoured bysome bug.

Anyone that has insights/suggestions, please post.

The screwy camp XP was supposedly fixed in a previous hotfix. Looks like its not working. Do me a favor and put this up in the bug post so that the Devs have one thread to look at it.

I believe the quality of your camps now affect the rate at which exp is earned.

This is a guaranteed 627 exp per camp [at least for me as I too am working on Survival 4]:

Multi-Person camp - 20 mins with one critter [I'm a novice CH].

Before I setup camp, I will try to find a high % of resources [mineral, organic, etc]. Once I find a resource above 90%, I will setup camp and sample, craft, feed my critter, or browse the SWG newsgroups.

Rinse and Repeat.

yesterday I got less than 620exp for camping alone for 16 minutes, today im getting 640 exp for camping alone for 10 minutes, trying out for 16 minutes today right now

Ah the Survival XP grind brings back fond memories of... well last week actually. I ran into this problem as well. For a while I was getting 627XP every 16mins. Then it went down to 500+XP. So for the rest of my grind I used 20mins as a good rule of thumb. I just setup camp when I was doing housework (irioning, making dinner, whatever). I just setup the iron infront of my computer and made sure to disband every 20mins. Even when the wife was online looking at curtians or whatever women look at on the Internet these days, I had her trained in task switching and disbanding and rebanding camps (she hates SWG). "Sorry honey, your 20mins is up, do my camps."

welli just started the survival grind... and although im at survival 2... i only get 360 per camp. thats at 15 minutes or 20 minutes... and its 360 every friggin time.

is this normal?

It's normal if you are only using the basic camp. They're capped at 360. Try experimenting with the time - you shouldn't need to sit there for 20 minutes to hit 360 in a basic camp. Try disbanding after 10 or 12.

When you get multiperson, use that. It doubles the cap, with only a modest increase in the amount of time needed to fill it.

Also, Delta, if I'm not mistaken, if he cannot build a multiperson camp can't he buy some at the Bazzar terminal and use it to hit a higher cap? Please correct me if I'm wrong. But, camping I-III went so fast for me I didn't even notice. IV on the other hand... IV was a grind. But, still... not terrible.

Right now there is a bug that lets any level scout use the Improved camp, and any level Ranger use the High Tech Field Base - this is from my personal experience.

It seems as though its hit or miss - some players can use camps they aren't qualified for, others can't. This is the only rhyme or reason to the problem that I've seen so far.

If someone would like to do some field testing, I'd love to see the results.
