What's his combat level? CL determines how much XP you get now. As a MBH, when I harvest I get around 1-2k XP per kill depending on the CL of the creature. Even though I only have exploration IV, I still rake in the scout xp. If he's a scout and low level, that may change things. Oh, and in a group, you still only get xp based on YOUR CL.

I probably told you things you already know, but hey, what am I here for if it isn't redundancy.

I hate to say it but that does not seem tooooo off base for a level 1 character. As a level 12 character I was getting about 260 xp off level 80 mantigrue reapers when I was in a level 80 group, and that was during double xp week.

My level 80 Master Ranger, when I brought her into the same group, was making over 4000 xp off the same level reapers.

At CL 1, was your friend also getting 3-5k the past weekend?

Like Paks said, 84 scout xp sounds about right... even if he's harvesting off a high level creature.

He probably got a good amount of resources, but his XP would be low because it's scaled to each individuals CL -- even while grouped.

He was only lvl 1, and the rest of us are lvl 80. He was getting a few shots in there, then letting us drop the turtor. The turtors were lvl 80-81. We were all capped on harvesting xp, so we couldn't even see if we were getting the normal xp. We are going to run more tests this week. Just wanted to see if anyone had any similar problems.
