Thread: Harvesting Question
Is plus harvesting broken for the ranger class? I was just wondering because I was trying to hire someone to harvest some avian meat for me and off hand I asked him (master ranger) how much he usually harvests off one giant peko peko...his answer 22. I harvest 22 off the same mobs and I'm a novice scout (Master Rifleman/Doctor)
So is + harvesting broken for you guys, I always thought you guys harvested way more than any other class, but maybe that's just a bad assumption.
"Is plus harvesting broken for the ranger class?"
- There are issues regarding the number of resources harvested since the last patch.
- The developers intentionally reduced the number of resources received by all individuals to compensate for increasing the amount of resources that can be harvested while grouped with other Scouts. ![]()
- In addition, it is believed that the harvesting skill is no longer taken into effect when harvesting resources, further reducing our harvesting. ![]()
- We are none impressed, I dare say. ![]()
When not in a group how do harvesting permissions work?
Last night I was hunting a couple of swamp tusk cats, when along comes a couple of (relative) newbies blindly running right by these fierce aggro creatures. Part of me just wanted to let them die and learn the hard way, but, the (novice) Ranger in me came rushing to the rescue. I healed the poor guy from an incap and continued to fight the tusk cat with traps and my trusty scout blaster (this guy was throwing in a couple of token shots from his DL-44). After I killed it I tried harvesting immediately. I couldn't harvest. I asked him if he harvested. He said, "Yeah, thanks!" I was really mad. But, I just responded with "Grrrrrr". Why couldn't I harvest this critter? How does it figure who has permission? Is it first shot, last shot? Most damage?
Epilogue: After getting incapped and escaping with his life the player runs off to his mission and runs about 12m near the other swamp tusk cat I was going to hunt. Again I was going to let him die, but, I rescued him while he just kept running to his mission. So I got the full kill and the resource harvest. I later found him at his mission and apologized for getting snippy about "stealing" my harvest (even though I just said, "Grrrrr"). I even gave him and his groupmate each a 20 charge stim-b after talking with them for a bit. Moral of the story: its not worth making enimies in this game over a measly 200+ scouting XP and a few hides.
Roz,
I don't know this officially, but in my experience, it's the last person to hit it before it dies (whoever killed it). Kinda sucks when someone killsteals from you like that.

That's what I expected. As for the killsteal... it was only a female swamp tusk cat. They con yellow for me, so its a tough kill, but, nothing to get in a fit about. If it was a pack of fambaas and I had really worked hard for the kill and the guy knew he was kill stealing (not just defending himself) then I'd be more apt for rage. I think it was more humorous to watch that blue dot run through the two red dots not even knowing what he was doing. I saw a lot of entertaining things last night and that was just one of them. There was anohter guy who had a recriutment rebel mission right near a couple of Gungan warchiefs. He thought they were his mission targets (no other reason for him to attack them so intently). I healed him from his incap and told him to run. He got up and fired again at the warchief. I just told him he was on his own. As I heard a PSO player named DiscoStu say: "Disco Stu lives crazy, Disco Stu will die crazy!"
