Thread: Question about Mask Scent

Now I have this skill but i got some questions before using it. Does mask scent work based on my cl? For example, if I'm cl5 then will the creatures with cl10 or more see me? How long does it last? Andcan I use it after getting into combat or I must turn it on before?

Your Combat Level has nothing to do with Maskscent. In and amongst your skills you will find one for camoflage, which is the skill that maskscent is determined from. I am no longer sure which tree it is in, but it's not camping or traps.


You can also wear bio-modded clothing to increase your skill, use CAs and AAs to increase it, and if I am correct, some drinks (Jawa beer used to) will increase it as well.


Example. As a Master Ranger wearing bio-mod clothing I was wandering the upper level of the Rryatt trail with no aggro. A guildie with only some Ranger and no mods was getting aggroed every Mob.

Mask scent only works on red type creatures (aggressive). There is always a chance that it will fail to mask your scent. It seems to me that the higher the creature level is to my level the more likely it is to fail. I think before the CU you could circle around the same creatures and keep getting xp. Now it seems you can only get xp once for each creature and you have to be closer than you used to.


You can not start mask scent while in combat. You can not start mask scent while mounted.

Wow, Man, my mask scent didn't work for hooey on Dantooine, everything I came across detected and killed me without prejustice. It was ugly, I amskulking back to my house Tantooine and never leaving again.
