Thread: The creature did not have any intact harvestable resources

i got this message last night after killing and trying to harvest a fierce pilket protector. have any of you got this message? and what causes the resources to fall apart so you can't harvest them?

It means the resource stats were shifting. It happens occasionaly.

That mean the resource you tried to harvest in about to shift. When it happens you can still harvest the other types of resources a creature has (unless they are about to shift as well).

This can happen when you try to collect a resource that the animal is not dropping. For example spiders don't drop bone and hide, just meat. Bettles not bone but hide and meat.
For unknown reasons pikets don't drop bones, just meat and hide. Go figure out if this is a bug on it's something in the dev's mind!

great thanks for the info, was the first time i'd ever seen that, and was a bit confused. scratched my head thinking, "i know i'm new to ranger and all, so either i'm doing something wrong or i just broke harvesting"

Other creatures is fine. I can even harvest the hide from the Rancors im trying to harvest the meat off. This error happends to all in group. We tried disbanding and regroup, didnt help.
Cant harvest other carnivore meat type of creatures either.

The resource shift on creatures only takes a few minutes ( 5-10 mins?). For example, it's not unusual to be harvesting herbivore meat on Dant and within a few minutes have the resource shift with different stats on the meat. Fortunately the resource shift doesn't take nearly all day as it used too.

I've had this problem too some times....I was thinking I was using too big a gun and thus making big holes in the hide that made it unusuable...
Not sure about the resource shift though cuz I was able to get the same resources a few minutes later froma different spawn of critters.

i believe this happens when you have a commando in the group making minscmeet off of the animal
