Foraging for food is a hit or miss kind of thing for me... mostly miss. Perhaps 40% of the time I find something, and half of those "successes" are worm or insect bait, which I have never used. After deleting bait, you must wait to forage again or else you may have your find discarded because the system thinks your inventory is full.

It would be a really, really good idea to have the option to not pick up bait while foraging. I'd prefer a lower hit rate where I only find actual food anyway.

This would have two main benefits:

1. Looking for food for buffing or feeding pets would be less painful.

2. The senseless creation, insertion, and deletion of bait objects on the database would be greatly reduced. This could have a positive impact on performance server-wide. Think not? Consider all the scouts, rangers, and CH's out there foraging at any given time. Why waste the time hitting the database when you don't need to? My understanding is that database latency is something that is trying to be minimized, so this would be a way to kill two birds with one stone.

Just a checkbox under options, or a /ignorebait type command would do the trick!

This is interesting - because there are other threads from people who only want to be able to forage for bait and nothing else.

The only thing I can think of is the ability to forage for a specific type of item - food or bait. It's on my list.

This is a good idea. One suggestion: when you submit this, ask for a toggle instead of a confirmation window. It would be a royal pain to have to choose "Bait" or "Food" every time you forage.
