In Brisc's guide he talks about Mimbari (I know its Mabari but I B5 rocked
) being a good starter, but what other armor is considered good for Scouts and Rangers?

Gel,
I gotta speeelll check that guide next time.
Mabari is best. Ubese/Chitin is also good if you can get a set with good kinetic resists.
That's really the key - balancing the encumbrances with the kinetic resists. Composite is great armor, but the encumbrances are way too high for us Scout/Rangers. You can get a set if you spend a lot of time PvPing or running faction stuff (where people are blasting at you), but for close in critter killin' you need something that takes the bite out of...bites. So check your kinetic resists.
Like I wrote in another thread, I've got a set of Ubese that's great with 40% kinetic resists across the board.

I have a set of Ubese with 56% resists on kinetic - I love it, but I've never tried Mabari. I'm kind of a tank, so it doesn't ruin my day if MOBS get up close to me. coupled with a little medic skill, my biggest worry is my mind pool.

You spelt it correctly Delta. I just can't help but think Minbari every time I hear it though.

So padded is not as good? Best looking armor in the game, imo. How high have you seen kinetic resits on padded armor?

I have a peace of padded chest that's pretty good. And I do agree it looks cool. I also thought padded was the best light armor for rangers. So what kind of encumberance does this Ubese have? Is that what I should be upgrading to? Although it will have to wait until after I save up for a new laser rifle.
