What is the best way to get organic material to build soem of the more complex traps? Can I find this stuff on the bazaar?

You can get organics for all traps by harvesting the creatures you kill. If you mean INorganics (i.e. polymer and metal), you'll either need to survey for and sample those using survey tools or purchase them off the bazaar, but watch the prices ... they vary wildly. I never pay more than 3cpu for those resources.
