These are simply hunting missions. Kill x amount of whatever and you'll get your reward. The waypoint is useless, so deactivate it.

One way to handle these missions is get a corresponding destroy mission from a regular terminal and you'll have a waypoint. Another strategy is to actually go hunt that creature with no waypoint (hence the 'explorer' part of the mission). The first way is easier, the second is more challenging.

I took 2 quests that required me to havrest like 45 hides. I found the way point but there is no one there. It does not say to turn them in to a certian person. Nothing is happening when I get to the way point. What am I doing wrong? I am such a newbie!

Just to clear up some confusion…
The mission does not ask for 45 hides, it asks for 45 pelts. This is to indicate that you must kill 45 creatures as specified by the mission.
