Thread: (EdiT) Spawn system is borked
Sheesh, sorry about that last one, hit return by mistake.Wish there was an edit feature on the boards
Anyways, the spawning system is really screwy since they messed around with it many patches ago.
1.Mobs spawning and then quickly despawning
2. Ring of Death is gone, but so is rarer spawns it seems. I have not seen a kimoglia on lok since the changes, not even near the volcano where the were tons of them.
3. Seeding an area. If you say in an area long enough, the game will start to spawn mobs. This has a couple problems. It may take alittle while for the game to do this, also there seems to be a limited range as to how far the game will spawn stuff, so you could move on and quickly end up in another area of no spawns.
4. 1000+ meter spawning on low level missions. I know this was done proposely, but its still irrating. On Corillia the other day I took 2 missions for some birds I think, never checking the howfar they were. I ran 2000+ meters for a lvl 12 mission. This is just wrong.
Ict,
Quick question - on the 2000 m thing...what planet was that on? And this was a destroy mission? Or a faction mission?

I disagree. You think having to run more than 2k+ meters is annoying? Try getting low level missions just for scouting exp and not even making it out of the city gate before some yahoo with a happy gun blows your missions up for ya... I had a night where I had 5 missions taken from me before I could even fire a shot. It's not that hard to pay attention to the range of missions. Give us low-level scouts a break, eh?
Delta,
It was on Corellia and it was a destroy mission. I was looking for some avian meat and took a couple rasp missions.
Watchingone,
I agree that is annoying, I have been guilt of doing that myself. On Rori the other day, I was trying to collect avain meat and unfornatly Rori was the only planet at the time with anything decent. So I ended up taking some Rasp missions, but on the off chance I saw a lair with rasps I took it, so I am sure I "stole" somebodies mission. The problem is that between ubran sprall, longer missions, and less frequent random spawns, there is less for everybody.
But as a new up and coming scout, I would suggest leveling at one of the less populated outer planets like Talus or Rori and then run a circuit around the city killing the newbie spawns for scout exp. Its only about 50 exp per critter, but there is useally alot of them and they respawn after about 5 minutes or so.
I thought I had the spawn vs. non-spawn thing figured out, but I can't seem to get a solid confirmation. If someone can help, I would very much appreciate it.
When running around I've seen that some lairs have a fog (white, pink, green or yellow) on them. These always seem to be mission lairs. In addition, I read somewhere on the boards that missions describe exactly what they are, while non-mission lairs are more generic (A Sickle Rasp Nest vs. A Brambles). I avoid the cloudy lairs, and the ones with actual names of sorts on them, and haven't had any complaints about stealing missions. Of course, I might just have been lucky so far. It wouldn't be the first time. *grin*
Seriously, has anyone else made the same, or similar observations?
Hastur,
That's a very good point - I hadn't made that connection myself, but I'll test it out tonight.
