Since there is no Experimentation skill in either the Scout or Ranger tree, is it even worth bothering to experiment on Scout items? Will Artisan Experimentation help?

TheBob,

As a Scout (and as a Ranger) you will get one experimentation point when you are experimenting on traps and camps. As of now, experimentation has no affect on traps and camps - at least none that we can tell, and the experimental qualities, etc. are all zero, no matter how good your ingredients are. So I would say that experimentation is non-entity as far as Scouts are concerned.

Raw,

You need to have a Weapons, Droids and General Crafting Tool (not a Generic Crafting tool, like the one you are given when you start scouting) in order to experiment. And you need to use that WDGCT near a Weapon, Droids and General Crafting Station - they are in all of the cities, many PA's and crafters houses have 'em, and you can get one with the Ranger High Tech Field Base.

I have tried experimenting on scout items. The experimental quality before I apply my one big experiment point is always zero, which means that experimenting couldn't possibly have an effect. (Whenever experimential quality goes to zero, there's no way to get it back up again.)Before I experiment, I always see a high risk of failire, around 60-70 percent. When I experiment, I always get an "amazing success," but it has no effect on quality.

In short, it's not worth the time to experiment.

The one exception to this is the Ranger's camo kits. They can be experimented on and if you use them will want to do so.

For everything else it is just an extra annoying screen or two.

in order to expierment on anything you need to be standing directly neqar a crafting station weither it be yours public or your guilds. those are the things around the town that say Chemical and Food Crafting station or Generic Item crafting station etc....

At the present time Expiermenting on any SCOUT item IE traps/camps does absolulty nothing for the end product. There is suposed to be a further update somewhere down the road...(yeah right) that allows for expiementation on your scout items just like droid parts or chemical parts. So for now you can use any resource with any quality to make your traps and camps because there as good with poor hides as they are with the stuff that costs you 4000 credits for 200.....

Try being a master medic/novice Bio engineer that needs to be verey finiky about the Overall Quality of the resources you use.... It's a real pain ::L::
