Thread: Newbee Novice Scout needs help !
1. That little mouse droid is more of a pet and not very useful, consider it the weiner dog of SWG. I would recommend putting off buying a new droid until you make some creds since they can get costly.
2. Find the mission terminal that gives out destroy missions and choose missions that have you destroying a creature lair. The waypoint you get at first will take you to the general area the lair is at. Once you get close (200-300m), you will recieve a message that the mission has been updated and will give you the exact position.
3. When selling resources on the bazaar, try to sell them in large quantities. I would recommend selling in stacks no smaller that 1k units. I would also recommend looking at your servers trade forums to see what's selling/needed to determine which resources you harvest.
4. 500 creds isn't much in this game but you'll discover that most folks tend not to tip entertainers anymore. A lot of that comes from the number of afk entertainers but thats another issue.
5. Yes it's normal to be poor when first starting the game. You will learn over time the best ways to make creds and what not to waste creds on.
I would also add this tip: If you intend to master scout, start trapping immediately, before concentrating on your CL.
I recall there being a problem with folks getting the "mission aborted" message a long time ago but I haven't seen that one in awhile. I would definately do a bug report on that.
Occasionally you will get missions where once you arrive, there's another lair/spawn of unfriendlies next to or on top of yours. Not a whole lot to be done about it unless you have somefriends help youor as you did, abort the mission. To my knowledge, there is no penalty for aborting a mission.
Arboe wrote:Thanks a lot. That helps.Just a few things about missions: why did I in two cases reach the first waypoint and then get the message: "mission aborted" ?Can someone other interfer with my mission or have i possibly done something wrong ?Another mission i cancelled, since some 4 elite tuskan raiders (they are in general very angry with me: -400 in faction relation; i killed a lot of them in the beginningfor the credits) were standing right at the waypoint as if they were waiting for me ! I could not possibly cope with that kind of people so i kept a safe distance and that excluded me from complete the mission. Is there a penalty for not completing a mission ?
You were doing recon missions which operate on a timer. It's not long, about 5 minutes. So, if you ar eon foot, forget it, if you're on a slow vehicle, pick two close by and don't stop to admire the scenery.
Recon missions will tend to spawn something that's either totally neutral, in which case, fly by, or which are going to try and ventilate your hide on the way past, such as Tusken or thugs. When you get the waypoint in sight, head straight for it, about 100m out, if it looks hostile (ie, everything is showing red) jink to one side and start praying they don't oneshot your ride out from under you.
If you have enough -ve faction with one particular group, kills some of their enemies to get balanced back out. For Tusken, kill jawas. Careful though, they're mean little boogers.
(there are no penalties for cancelling/failing to complete recon, delivery or destroy missions. Some quests its a different story, but you'll find that out later)
Thanks for your answer. But actually it was a hunt mission. I was to kill som 45 critters and i needed both credits and combat training. But those pesky red Tuskans kept me away (embarrasing). By now i've progressed to CL6, are poor (but happy - other players are quite helpfull) and I will return to find those Tuskansand earn credits. Thx.
