Thread: Scout skill box requirements clarification
As for master scout yes in order to master it you need all of the boxes. At novice you gain the ability to use a couple traps, a basic camp, the /harvest skill, and the /forage skill as well. /forage will give you some short term buff food for free. /harvest is what you use to get hide/meat/bone (only one per creature) off of your target.
As for training. Go to any NPC city like Coronet or theed and do /find trainer:scout and this will make a waypoint to the NPC scout trainer nearest to you. Most of the skills will cost you one to three thousand credits to learn.

At present I am Novice Scout, CL9 and 3.2.2.2 i think. The only reason i've not comed further is that i have not been able to findplayersthatcan trainme (and I spend a lot of time in training others - they just keep on coming!!).
Okay. I've red a lot of guides re. becoming a scout, ranger etc. Perhaps a silly question but i am little uncertain:Must I complete all 4 branches of each 4 skillboxes to become Scout ?
And if I take/supply with MM skills: is it better to take iethe hole branch of riffle skills rather than the first of each branch ?
Any advice/opion much appreciated.
Arboe,
Once you've trained Novice, you're already a Scout. And remember - any of the NPC Scout trainers can train you for a nominal fee (1000 credits, based on the box level - Exploration 1 would cost 1000, Explortation 4 would cost 4000) as well. You don't have to find a player to do it for you.
The way the system works now, if you take all of the level 1 boxes in a combat profession, you've got the basic skills that each tree teaches. If you instead go all the way up one tier, you'll have improved your ability with that particular weapon. Think of it this way - if you take one box of each tree, you'll be fair with a lot of skills. If you take all 4 boxes of one tree, you'll be very good with one skill, but not good at all with the others.
With Scout, in order to be a Master Scout, you've got to complete all four trees and the master box. But you don't have to do that unless you want to, or its a prerequisite to have Master Scout for whatever elite profession you want to have.
I would suggest that you get at least 4/2/2/2, because the terrain negotiation you get with the Exploration tree is our best benefit.

Hello there famous Delta/Brisco Rubal
About the fee for training: I know but i just want to keep it cheap since i have still not been able to create a stable income from the bazar (I think bottoms outat the hide market - terrible prices
it is not fair). So i am looking for player trainers: and they are difficult to find and "hold". I'll try the search but i wont pay a SWG/MPC trainer; it will ruin me (I've got four skill boxes on level 2 to 4 ready for training but it takes 10000 credits)!
So most players in Mos Eisley Tatoine /tarquinas have seen me running around in town crying/yelling/begging for free training the past three or four days !!!The only result of that is that when i ask for training in trapping 3: 2 or 3 players comes to me and ask for trapping 2 training !! Very smart guys - but i do it - for free of course. I'm a nice guy !!
I understand what you tell about weapon skills: I just wonder because i only do 50-100 damage with riffle 3 skill and kneeling. The green NPC are allways very dangerous to me.
I intend tospend money on some usbese armour because im far to vulnerable when i attack green NPC creatures with traps. And trappinggrey NPC creatures only pay 100-150 XP per kill.
So far I didn't go with a group mainly due to the advice in your scout guide saying: stick to yourself at the low levels (i assume that will be until around CL 10 or so. At present i'm CL9).
I'll be happy t have more of your comments.
