Thread: Proper procedure for milking?
Maskscent and try. Works.
Also, don't fight them first, any of them, sometimes it spooks the herd. And if any of them start fighting anything in the area, chancethe herd spooks.
good luck

Doubt it, unless all the creatures are within 4 meters of you. You can try you get some all lying down, or one sleeping, one standing next to it.
Animals I tend to milk - Humbabas and Krahbu - like to wander. You have to move with them.

YES
It can be done, if they're all within milking range from you, and stay that way for the 30 seconds or so it takes to go through the milking procedure.
Sometimes several of the beasties will congregate around the lair, and you can put multiple milking commands on them. As long as they don't move out of range (5m) and you've got space in the inventory for the milk (combine stacks early and often with those lairless herds, especially big producers like sharnaffs, fambaas, and pikets) you can get two "you have successfully milked the creature" system messages back to back.
