Thread: Speeders and Scouting XP
Maugh,
It's going to go in my next report on the profession to the Devs. We're just starting that process now. I waited to put it through because I knew we weren't going to get any attention until this pass anyway. ![]()

Soda,
We had a number of folks come in here posting that that's how they got through Scout hologrinding. I believe that the consensus opinion is that mask scent should work, but should not grant XP while on a vehicle.

Soda,
It's trivial to acquire Scouting XP flying around Dathomir masked. I trained up Ranger while I was working on CH, so needed to hunt for the CH XP. But I also experimented with the vehicle Scouting XP and found that you can easily gain 40-50K of Scouting XP an hour just flying around the red mobs on Dath. The XP cranks up even higher flying up and down Rancor Valley.
Even Trapping XP is trivial on Dath. Kite a couple of enraged rancors into a mob of brackasets, and let fly the traps. I was hucking glow-wire traps at an engaged rancor, and was getting 1,536 XP per trap. I managed to finish the entire trapping tree in only a couple of hours.

I really thing this is a dumb idea that should get nixed. Who really drives around for scouting xp?Any competent holo-gringer just hunts nonstop. This is only a benifit, not being attacked while driving around may make no sense, is still very convenient.
Sorry for the negativity, flame away.
Not true. Let me put on my flame resistent suit here and say I mastered scout for BH loooong before they had vehicles and during a time when mask scent XP was broken and not even a viable option.
But, I have a RL friend who is a hologrinder and did Master Scout and Master Ranger in two days just by riding around on Dath between two rancor spawns. It works better than harvesting because you don't have to be buffed and you don't need any combat skills. So if you're a hologrinder who's coming off of chef or doctor or have some sort of mish-mosh of skills that will only allow you to kill chubas then its a very viable option.
Got master scout long before vehicles or mounts and I don't see any real reason to implement such a nerf.
