Thread: Master Mask scent timer issue?

This one is for a buddy of mine who's use of Juno's browser prevents him from posting:
Just made Master Scout and now has Mask Scent ware off after a much shorter time than 4xxx! Is this a known issue? Or did Mask Scent just get some kind of Nerf? As Scout 4000 myself (in addition to smuggler, tka, pistoleer), I now have a longer lasting Mask than him?
Note: this is NOT an issue of his mask scent being detected, the message he recieves is clearly "Has worn off"!

Kai,
There's no reason why his mask scent should be wearing off faster than yours does. Is he using a macro?

No, but he is using a 56k connection through Juno ("You get what you pay for!" should be this ISP's slogan), and it wouldnt be the first time I've watched a completely different version of events than him due to server/client discrepencies and lag issues. I will run more tests to see if he is infact mask scenting on my screen when grouped. Perhaps the server never gets the mask scent request from his computer... or he is hitting it twice due to lag issues and the second one isnt registered for 5 min... we will see!
Glad to know this isnt an existing Scout Issue though!

Yikes, dial up.
Remember, the game works off the server timer, not what you are actually experiencing. On a fast connection you may keep your maskscent for XX minutes game time, near real time. The poor schlub on dial up may only experience half that, as it takes him longer to see and do what you are doing, due to his POS connection. The server is literally dishing it our faster than he can take it, and he loses in the end.
Ever wonder why he stands there for like a minute and then starts shooting in combat?
