Hi all. I'm a relative noob to SWG having only played for 2 weeks or so. I'm near to mastering scout with only trapping 4 andsurvival 4 to go. Yesterday, after a bit of creature bashing on Rori, I set up a base by a nearbypool with the idea to do a spot of fishing later on. Now, when I created the camp it appeared inside the water and I was able to fish whilst standing in the camp. Great I thought, I can get survival xp from the camp AND fishing. I then spent a quite enjoyable 30 minutes fishing away without having to leave the camp.

When Idisbanded the camp and tried to set-up anew one I constantly received the error 'you cannot setup a camp whilst in water'. I then tried to make the camp near the water but every time it would build land over the pool and I was unable to fish without leaving the camp.

Did I happen across an exploit or am I doing something wrong? I ask as I'd like to use this trick again (if its not an exploit of course). Cheers.

This is a great little trick that I use frequently by the river outside Coronet. My technique is to look directly down and place my character standing right at the edge of the water where it ebbs back and forward. Then I throw up my camp and fish away. 9 times out of 10 this works and my camp is flooded with water!

Uncle,

Here's what you do - head out into the water a ways. You should be able to get fairly far in - just far enough that you're completely in and yet not far enough to trigger swimming mode.

If you pop the camp there, there's a pretty good chance you'll end up in the water.

Thanks to both of you. I managed to pull the trick off another 3 timesand just shy of 90 mins later I was nearly 1k fish and Surivival 4 better off.

I must thank you both as well. I have been trying to figure this out for a while now. I would end up fishing for a couple of minutes then running back to my camp so it would not be abandoned then back to fish then back to camp then back to.....well you get the idea.
