All you have to do is go on group hunts and use your hightest level camp and get upward of 300 xp a time.
Given the choice I would go for survival xp the others.
Surveying XP for artisan is the worst starting profession in the game IMO.
At least when doing group hunts you are doing something fun and making some cash.

I blasted my way through survival IV and surveying IV by doing both at the same time.
I had a macro going to made my character rest every 10 minutes and resume surveying while I spent the time crafting traps and camps. The best experience is the kind you get while getting another type of experience! ![]()
And the best part was that I was getting free minerals to make adhesive mesh traps with! Bwahahahahahaha!

The only part of survival I found a bit time-consuming was the last 6k or so that I had left over, but i spent most of that doinga nice bit of fishing! Quite relaxing when you're listening to cd's at the same time :-) The fantastic thing about scout is you gain exploration xp harvesting mobs and using mask-scent, you gain trapping xp from using the excellent traps on offer (if youdon't use traps every time youfight, shame on you)AND you gain xp from setting up a camp when you're nackared! Who can complain? Iimagine grinding scout must be an arse, but when you play it like it should be played it's a joy! Now, if I only I could get the remaining 300 AP I need to make Master Scout and ranger...

I agree, survival XP is easy to gain, even alone. While in camp you can craft, heal, etc. Take time to enjoy your surroundings...unless a group of Bull Rancors suddenly take up shop next door.

Easy to gain, but boring. Crafts and tents aren't exactly the funnest thing to craft as they have no quality...nothing to strive for when crafting. I just basically put down a camp, left for a half hour, came back and repeated.
For me Trapping 3 was hard to, don't know why tho /shrug
Maybe because I kept throwing noise makers at quenkers, lol it took a whole stack to get a hit some times.
Btw, you guys will be seeing more of me since I mastered scout on shadowfire yesterday. (on my way to BH/ Carbineer, already master Carb)
