I've been trying to come up with a good macro to keep my mask scent on all the time. The first one i had, I had it try to reapply mask scent after 2 min, but the time till mask scent wore off changed too much and wasn't reliable. The one I've been doing now is as follows:

/maskscent

/pause 90

/maskscent

/pause 1

/ui action toolbarSlotxx

This macro would apply mask scent for 90 sec, then turn it off. Then it would loop back and do it all over again. This macro would always seem to reverse after awhile and turn mask scent on and then back off right away. Do any of you have a good macro that you use, or is this about as good as it gets. I keep having to /dump and restart this one.

Um... why bother??

Hotkey maskscent to your second row and keep an eye on your indicator. If it breaks, reapply when you can. As your skill climbs, the time to reapply decreases, so you would have to mess with a macro further.

The only macros I use are for harvesting, and they are buggy half the time.

Crazy,

I have to agree with JB here - it's just easier to deal with when you do it yourself.

Plus - if you're on a mount or vehicle, you're not going to be able to reapply it.

A tip. put /peace before the macro to use it during battles.

This macro would always seem to reverse after awhile and turn mask scent on and then back off right away.

This is because things can break your mask. Since there is more to it than a toggle you control, you won't ever be able to have a macro that constantly calls itself.

I have to agree with JB and Delta, it's easier (and safer) to hotkey it.

However, there might be some good macros you can make that are manually applied. Having a "/peace; /maskscent" is a good idea, but would only work if the mob you are fighting lets you peace. Another popular one is a "/dismount; /maskscent; /mount" macro.

Here's my Mask Scent macro:

/maskscent;

/pause 121;

/ui action toolbarSlotxx;

I pause for 121 seconds because that's 120 seconds for the mask scent duration and one second pause to make sure there's no overlap.

The xx in toolbarSlotxx is the Fkey you place the macro (00-23) so it just loops itself.

If your Mask Scent breaks, and we know it will, then you have to type (or set a hot key for) /dump to to dump any timed commands. This is important because even though the Mask Scent broke, the macro timer is still counting down and it is possible for you to have several /maskscent commands going at once if you don't clear them, which will keep cancelling each other out as their respective timers expire.

This has been a very successful macro for me.
