Saladin,

5 friends in a camp, while you're grinding out camps with a macro.

Read my From Novice to Master Scout guide for more info.

I would like to refer you to the "From Novice to Master - How to Become a Master Scout Version 3.5 UPDATED!" thread stickied at the top of the forum to answer this question.

In addition, I would like to request that you make use of the search feature of the forums in the future before you ask a question, as many common questions (including the one you have asked) has been brought up more times than I can remember. I hope you don't take offense to me making this request, I would just like to see a little less noise on this board, which will help everyone in finding new and potentially useful information without having to sift through common questions.

I hope the information I have provided helps you, and wish you luck in getting through the wilderness survival tree. Thanks

oh my god this is slow, i'm sitting ina camp now on my other comp with my alt and my friend with their alt total of 4 characters. It takes 7 - 10mins for 1000experience, is there a faster way than just sitting here endlessly?

Honest, it does eventually get done.

The other thing to do is take your mates out hunting, drop a camp every time you stop to heal / re-buff. Waiting for somebody catching up with you to go somewhere? Drop a camp. Suddenly remembered you need to **edit** next door and borrow a cup of sugar? Drop a camp.... (ok, maybe not the last one cos you'd be afk, but you're allowed afk for short periods...) Nature break? Drop a camp.

Even if you're on your all alone, drop that camp. You'll get some xp. Maybe half, maybe the full lot, but it's all good.

And you'll be done in no time, really.

No, really.

Why rush it? sit down, relax. enjoy the wind blowing thru the trees. strike up a conversation. contemplate your belly button. there's no rush, you'll get there when you get there.

First, try to get yourself nice and damaged before you pop open the tent. You will earn experience faster if you are actively healing in the camp. The cap doesn't go up, but you reach it faster.

Second, craft camps and craft traps both give you experience. Do it in practice mode so you gain the extra experience bonus and don't have tons of traps and camps clogging your inventory (unless you need them).

Third, try to place you camp in such a way so that you can fish while camping. This involved very precise placement and I personally haven't been able to do this (I also haven't tried really).

It will take time, but it's not impossible. Also, do try to enjoy the experience, /shout and let people know that you've got a camp if they need to heal in the field. If you have a higher level camp most people will never have even seen it and will probably end up going through some sort of shock that you can build something quite so cool.

The othe rthing to do is setup camp on the very edge of the water in a good fishing spot. So you can fish from in the camp. You get Survival XP for each fish you catch to. Just another way top get it.. Of course it would be cool if there were so survival cources on the different planets. The goal being to go from point A to point B ON FOOT. Bonus points for not using your weapons at all. Now that would be a Quest for a Ranger.

fastest way i ever got to do it was this..

-go to naboo or some other relatively safe area with rivers

-wade ankle deep into the water and place a camp (camp should appear a little below the waterline and be flooded, if you're too deep you cant place it and if you're toohigh it wont flood)

-in the flooded camp, setup a macro to fish

-go make yourself a coffee

-drink the coffee and watch yourself fish

-have some friends come idle with you in the camp (this is the perfect time to reminescence about old times and plan new adventures)

-craft some camps while you're there

-fillet the fish and make more bait

-fish some more

-contact some bio engs if they'd like some fish meat (expensive stuff since it cant be effectively macroed)

-replant each camp after about 15 minutes

takes a day or two but you'll get there (above steps almost all increase the amount of survival xp, i've managed to cap out camps in about five minutes at best + all the fishing xp + the camp crafting xp = lots of survival xp)

As a ranger (or scout with Survival I), you can find good stuff on the ground, practically anywhere.

Type /forage, or use the command on the action menu.

Need something to do while sitting in a camp? Try this macro, call it "forageforever":

/forage;

/pause 2;

/macro forageforever;

Type /dump to stop it.

Every once in a while you'll pull out either a worm, grub, or insect bait.
