I started a few weeks ago, and spent a lot of time reading articles and deciding what to do. I landed with a Wookie Scout, that is going to make his way up to Master rifleman and Master Ranger. My rifles skills I dont have to worry about there are enough targets and creatures to kill. But I only have 3/2/2/3 scout and I am starting to enjoy myself, but I have all these hides, bones, meats, and eggs and i rather sell them then let them rot, but i also want a good price.

i know i can use the hides and bones to make my Scout stuff (Camps, traps) but when making money, what are the crafters looking for from scouts/rangers?

I was crusing around and ofund these really nice Agro batlike creatueres that Conned white to me. I was able to harvest 100 units of 900+ PE and OC Insect meat. Who wants them, ad how much can i get for them?

Genrally, I would like to know what I should be looking for so I can sell stuff better.

Chefs? do they jsut want flavor? what kind of Eggs or Meat?
Tailors? Hides.. does the quality matter? what types of hides?
Armor and bones?
CH? do they need anyhing?
Docs? what are they looking for?
BE? do they need anything from us?

I rahter be hunting down and harvesting from things I know that will sell well, then harvesting and trying to figure out what to do with the stuff

Biggest sellers are avian meat and wooly hide. Most needed by doc and armorsmith. With the meats for doctors its 66% OQ 33% PE mostly. For Armorsmiths, i believe, its 66% OQ and 33% SR or UT.

Bio-engineers need Dath Insect Meat and fish for specific schematics. And just good large quantities of meat for BE additives. Find a good spawn and milk a ton of it. Usually a BE is in need of a stack.

Tailors - We only care about numbers for wooly for Wookie armor padding. Otherwise whatever junk you find is good for us.

CH's need nothing

Oh yeah insect meat if you get one with good OQ/PE/DR numbers its good for vercupti. And if you find one with a very high DR needed for 49 filling Vercupti. The chefs willl want it.

Hope this helps

The biggest selling creature resources are, in this order, woolly hide, avian meat, leathery hide and herbivore meat. For avian and herbivore, look for high OQ and PE. For woolly and leathery, look for high OQ and SR. Depending on the stats and the economy on your server, you should be able to make lots and lots of money. I have sold hide to armorsmiths for as much as 200 cpu and avian meat to doctors for as much as 150 cpu.

Other resources will be bought by BEs and chefs. They both buy lots of meat. Chefs will usually buy any generic meat. They look for high stats across the board. Insect meat is required for certain recipes. I haven't sold much to BEs. Others may be able to say what they look for. Milk also sells well to chefs, even if the stats aren't so great, but harvesting is kind of tedious.

As a BE, I need meat and a ton of it.

The weights are 50% OQ, 30% PE, 20% FL. To make one factory run of nutrients, I need 20k units. I don't pay huge sums for my meat (the weighted average/33), but I am making my suppliers a fair amount of cash. And while not as lucerative as selling to the larger money making professions, I am a guaranteed sell if the quality is decent. I imagine most BEs are the same way.

For wooly hide and leathery hide for armorsmiths: its 50% OQ and 50% SR. Mos good armorsmiths don't even wast their time if the the combined stats are less than 1600. Example 900 OQ and 700 SR. The higher these stats are the more valuable it is to the armorsmiths. Most people only look at the OQ for the hide and thus I will see lots of guys selling "awesome" wooly hide of 950+ OQ with SR of less then 100. Also the higher the MAL the lower the encumbrance which will come into play after the great armor and buff nerf that is upcoming. I collect large amounts (50k - 100kstacks or more depending on the spawn planet)of wooly and leathery hides for my armorsmith alt and I still have to get outside contracts to keep up with the orders

From what ive encountered, heres the hot sellers that ive noticed in order of demand:

1.) Avian maat with high OQ and PE (in that order). Docs eat this stuff up.
2.) Herbavore meat, same thing with stats. Also a doc thing.
3.) Wooly hide. High OQ, other stat, i dunno what they want. Seems like armorsmiths and tailors want this stuff.

But when you think about it, going after the avian meat first, and herbivore sceond makes the most sense. Those items are the basis of the economy. Their ingredients to create buffs i beleive. Well, people pay out the nose for buffs. Buffs are what allow people to take on solo group missions or what not, and make lots of money. Its a trickle up and trickle down effect.
You could argue we have a very direct impact on any server economy.

Now ive found two types of buyers where docs are concerned. The shrewed ones who absolutely refuse to pay market value, but only pay what they think its worth. Their tryign to minimize their expensies and maximise their profits on buffing. They will try and contract harvesters who might not know about the going rates on an in demand organic. I found this out the other day.

The other type, buys competively, trying to scoop up as much of the resource he can off the market. This type, is our friend

We really got to keep a network going on our indivitual servers. I dont harvest for fun anymore, i harvest for the MONEY. Theres a big difference between the shrewd doc offering 75 CPU , and the guy buying competively for 110 CPU. Espeically when you busted your arse and pooled up 9200 units my by yourself.

Which do you want,
The guy taking advantage of you and paying 690,000?
Or the buyout/market value and getting payed 1,012,000?

Anyway, sorry about the tangent. but last night when i found out the real market value of my resources, i was a bit peeved by the shrewd doc trying to profit off my arse for what is tantamount to chump change given the time investment in harvesting.

Maybe being here since the first day where you had to struggle for 10k or my frugal nature makes be biased, but both look like an insane amount of credits for only 9k units of meat.

Seir,

Think about it this way - how much can they make off the finished products of that 9k of meat?

A buttload.

Thats what you call inflation. Happens alot in MMORPG economies and in RL.

Sad truth is, the credit, as a monitary unit, isn't worth very much. So ya, while 9000 units maybe have netted only 10K back in SWG early days, i doubt docs were charging a min of 12K for a single set of buffs either if they existed at the time.

edit:

another factor to consider is the yield per kill. 9000 units of meat isnt very much when your getting 90 to 100 units per kill on endor, but when the only avian span on the planet your on only yeilds 40 units per kill with 110 creature harvesting, getting 9000 units is alot more time consuming for THAT particular resource.
