I picked up scout to help keep a guildie BE supplied with meat. I figured I'ld master it and to that end, I was grinding survival xp today. When I was grinding though, I noticed some unusual behavior with the xp pay out.
Take a look here. I highlighted the important parts in red.
If you notice, my xp is all across the board. Those are all with multiperson camp kitsI hand crafted using the same exact resources for each oneand, if you notice, the time between deploy and disband is around 15 min for each one. Each camp was also placed in the same spot ( I was running a macro so all I had to do was disband once every 15 min. Was packing for school =/ ) and I recieved no visitors due to being in a secluded spot I decided to go fishing. The only thing I can think of to explain such a range of xp is if the quality of the assembly when crafting each camp makes a difference. Is this the case?
I think that as a possibility because I used a factory crate of camps to make it up to survival 2 and each camp gave exactly the same xp where-as, I craft by hand and the xp varies.
Eh, it's late. I need to go to bed now. What's going on with these camps fellow bloodfinian?

Absent any differences in player character behavior - healing, crafting, visitors... this could be the source to provethe quality of a camp has an effect on the XP you get.
Interesting to say the least.

I think JB may be right. It would be interesting to do the same thing with the factory camps and see if you get the same XP (or a statistically insignificant difference) based on the time.
As JB also said, unless you were doing something else in the camp - healing, etc. - you should've gotten relatively the same XP...there's always a little bit of randomness in there.
Very interesting indeed.

The first 2 I had some wounds got healed but only the first 2. The rest I was perfectly healthy. I forgot to mention that. Still being a decint range in the xp the others gave, it's intrigued me.
8 each should be good ea?
I'll round up some hide and bone enough to make 17 camps (8 hand made and a factory crate). And post my results here.

I think camps max at 21 minutes of lump on a log sitting there looking stupid camping... but don't quote me on the time. I could vary higher.
Interesting that there are variables here, even in factory made camps.
Guess that lends more power to the theory of group hunts with friends are the way to go to max camps quickly and painlessly. Personal experience - 8 people max a camp, any camp, in 8 minutes - with the proviso they all must "do stuff" like heal, craft, call pets and heal them, entertain.
Not that I didn't do solo camping, as there were times I was on and no one else in my crowd was. But camping with friends is always more fun.

21 minutes may betrue for the bigger camps but at 15 minutes with the smallest camp, I would reach 350xp and could get no more no matter how long it was up.

Ok, did the testing today using 8 camps each (for a total of 4 hours sitting around doing jack **edit**
).
Here's how I did it.
1. All testing was done with multiperson camps.
2. Each hand-made camp and the schematic used for the factory were made using the same 14.88 weapon, droid, and general item crafting tool as well as the same hide and bone for it all.
3. I made damn sure I had 0 wounds and 0 battle fatigue
4. I camped in the same spot I had been camping before. Each camp for each 8 camp set was placed in exaclty the same spot while the two sets were in approximately the same spot. As before, no visitors entered my camps.
5. I started with the hand-made camps. Hand-made results.
As you can see, the xp is not constant in the slightest even with the camp times up are within a couple seconds of each other.
6. Moved to factory camps. Factory camp results
As you can see here, the xp is still not constant. In fact, If you notice, one camp gives me an unusually low amount of xp. There is one camp session which I inadvertantly left up for 20min instead of 15 (got sidetracked) which gave higher xp.
I was honestly expecting to find the factory crates giving steady xp but as you can well see, that's not the case. The 20 minute camp leads me to question whether the time to reach the max xp a camp gives rises with the level of the camp but regardless, camps with up-times within seconds of each other and no other variables shouldn't be so varied in the amount of xp they grant should they?
