Hi everyone,

I occasionally see harvested stuff, usually meat selling for 100 cpu and more and I am wondering how to find out when and where to go to harvest this type of stuff. I know it comes and goes in shifts, but I want to find a way to be on top of the good shifts and know what creatures drop what type of meat. Any tips?

Go to SWGCRAFT.com and look at the creature resources.

Typically people will ask for a specific type. Right now there is excellent dath Insect meat out there fetching 100CPU. Sometimes the OQ isn't as important as the DR or the SR. All should be pretty high though. It also depends on who your customer is, BE's look for different stats than Docs or Chefs do.

Mainly Meds and docs look for high OQ, and PE. while chefs look for the same, inluding flavor. As far as prices, you need to ask your area crafters, or ask other scout/rangers on your server. I have found it is a learning process in itself, because there are so many details to cover

Yes you can make the big bucks, but it can be more work than you think. You have to stay up to date with the market and resource shifts, you have to market yourself to get contracts, you have to go to areas youd rather not, kill mobs that are either way beneth you in skill or way above you. It can be painstakingly tedious and boring with critters with low yeild.

You dont dabbble in the harvest market, you go full bore if you want to make serious money. At first its fun, but lately for me, its just buisness.. IE work. havesting 10K units as fast as you can when the crittrs yield is 10,14, or 30, or 40, units per kill isnt fun.
Remember,time is money.

Go to Lok for your avian meat needs that place is awsome for that, Endor also has a lot of big fat (and often difficult) animals to get resources from, this is just from my hunble experience with the game

Well, since Herbivore and Avian Meat are probably the most lucrative, I would suggest just periodically travelling around to each planet and "sampling" the meat (kill a low-level creature with the meat in question). That's what I used to do when I was a Master Ranger on another server. Then look for high OQ and PE. High DR is also desirable but, from what I understand, not imperative.

Hidesare sometimesneeded by armorsmiths, but you should ask them what type they are looking for and what attributes are most important (besides OQ which is usually always important). Tailors and Architects don't currently need to worry about quality.

This site is a valuable resource: http://www.swgcraft.com/home.php

But it is not necessarily up to date on all the servers as far as what is the highest quality resource at any given time. That's why it should act only as a supplement to your own ingame abilities.

Quite frequently (at least on Chilastra) you'll find folks hanging out at the Coronet Starport or in front of the Theed Spaceport spamming that they're buying a specific type of meat or hide. Recently, we've had an avian spawn that brought upwards of 200cpu (it was Naboo, bleh), 2 herbivore spawns that both brought 100cpu, and a Yavinian wooly that is bringing as much as 75cpu.

Also, keep an eye on your server's trade forum - quite often, as soon as a good shift is known folks will start posting that they're buying it or hiring hunters to gather it.

Yes, you can harvest particular types of meat or hide for rather decent cpus. There is no way of telling when or where the shift will be, or on what servers. Just because Talus wooley is 1000 SR now on Scylla (it's not, and it's an inside joke) doesn't mean it will be the same on Bria, or Wanderhome. Contrary to what some people say, there is no set limit on shifts. 21 days may be an average for crappy stuff, but good stuff has come and gone in one reset.

You have to pick and choose your harvests. Said Talus wooley will take you all freaking day to get a decent stack - one animal drops wooley on Talus .. paralopes. Wanna spend all day at 15 units an animal? Conversely, Talus leather would be simple to get in great big stacks. Your call. I go for easiness of harvest also.

In the long run, and I have said this before, get a wind generator or two, plunk them down, and sell energy. Maybe even get a decent mineral or chemical harvestor, we need metal and poly for traps. I tend them once a day, feed them cash +/or power and sell what I don't need. A constant positive cashflow.

Get a droid to help you kill, not harvest, your creatures. Less time on a lair = more lairs = more missions = more harvest = more money.

Imaybe onto something here, last I looked I had 11 million in the bank. And I been spending money like a drunk paratrooper lately. Just started a PA and need to make it look spiffy.
